Presumably the BBC Three scheduler. MTW has been on Thurdays at 10pm for as long as I can remember - possibly every new episode.

Good News used to be on at 9pm IIRC.

Just PLEASE God, don't influx us with Nigerian-born female 'comedians', who will inevitably break out into a mock Nigerian accent impersonating their mothers telling them off when they were young kids...
To be fair, they already have Ava Vidal and Andi Osho now Gina Yashere has settled in the USA. I don't think they need another when they've got a regular in Osho and a replacement in Vidal. They've got Nathan Caton as a male equivalent if they need one.

Yeah y'all, just one black comedian at a time.

Also why are they allowed to sit with the white comedians? White folk shouldn't have to sit with them...

Some of y'all British people are straight ridiculous. What you find funny may not be funny to others and vice versa but some of y'all are throwing some racist shade in here and it's disgusting.

I am mixed race myself and have no racist proclivities at all. I have friends of all nationalities so I don't appreciate your claim either.

The issue is not their skin colour. Nobody said it was. You are the only person bringin up the issue of skin colour or nationalistic tendencies. The issue is the repetitive nature of their limited material

I have no objection to Stephen K Amos or Reginald D. Hunter putting in an appearance, both of whom actually have material that is not just about being beaten by their mothers in supermarkets and putting on a Nigerian accent to imitate their mothers. If you check out the appearances on Mock The Week on Youtube, you'll see that is a key recurring theme. Perhaps it would have been prudent to do that first to see the validity of our claims before accusing us of racism.

The truth is you are trying to posit a false truth in order to make your argument substantial when in reality there is nothing in the content of our comments that are racist, you just want to take an argument of substance and reduce to it's most basic element for your own purposes to ascribe a racist connotation to a conversation where there is none other than in your personal perception. That's not got anything to do with the actual conversation or the content of the program.

I cannot stand Milton Jones, so that immediately knocks the show down a peg in my opinion. Apart from that, it was a decent start

I agree that this show hasn't particularly been kept fresh sadly. I think it's stagnated for a couple of years now and even after 9 months off the air it didn't feel particularly new or refreshed.

That said, it wasn't a particularly bad show last night given the recent standard. There were a few nice lines and I'm looking forward to seeing Gary Delaney next week.

Funny that - I think he's really good.

But bring back Frankie Boyle and that's me finished with the programme.

Milton must get good press as he used to be a rarity and now seems as close as we get to a regular.

Have to say I used to love this but it's become a bit stale over the last couple of series. It might be due to having Dave nowadays which seems to consist solely of TG, QI & MTW. It's hard to tell what's new and what's old hat on it, unless Boyle is on in which case it's definitely old but likely to be good.

Don't see how you can mis HIGNFY and Buzzcocks in the listings

Ryan was disappointing. Was expecting more from her.

Frankie and Rusell will never come back. Frankie on the basis he doesn't want to be hated simply because his sense of humour doesn't match that of his critics and Russell on the basis he has his own show and enough pull to not have to face the same kind of restriction on Good News. When the rest of the regulars let Frankie go to the wolves Russell took it a tad personally and decided to pursue other options when his mate was sold down the river simply for some jokes. He seems to have expressed understanding but still a degree of solidarity towards Frankie and a bit of mistrust/betrayal towards Dara, Hugh and Andy. If you don't laugh at a joke, that's fine, nobody expects everyone to like everything. However if you try to drum up a hate campaign, threaten their ability to work and earn a living and blacklist them, then that's pretty insane as a result of your contrasting sense of taste and humour. It's that kind of behaviour that led to Lenny Bruce's suicide and frankly I'd hope we'd got past that by now.

Um, can you provide some corroboration for any of this?

Tell you what, use Google and do your own detective work. You've access to the same resources as I have. I'm here to discuss the show, not do your homework.

Someone mentioned "Nigerian born comedians" so colour / nationality did come up in a previous post and they were stereotyping these comedians as being poor at stand up comedy.

Whether the mentioned comedians are any good or not is one matter - some of them aren't very good - bringing up their nationality directly is another.

I was very impressed with Dara's coda to Milton's work there.

Promise?

Last night was the first time I've watched MTW for a long time (including on Dave) and I enjoyed it. I'd forgotten why I avoided it before but thanks for the reminder. If it will be a guaranteed Boyle-free zone in future, I'll try to remember to watch.

Funny that - I think he's (Milton Jones) really good.
Me too. I notice his timing is different from the others. They seem to wait while he's got a line 'brewing'. Is this respect and anticipation?

But bring back Frankie Boyle and that's me finished with the programme.
And me.

Let me put it to you this way:

Show 1: Female Nigerian appears on the show - breaks into mock Nigerian accent pretending to be her mother.

Show 3: Different Nigerian appears on the show - breaks into mock Nigerian accent pretending to be her mother.

Show 5: The first Nigerian appears on the show - breaks into mock Nigerian accent pretending to be her mother.

And so on...
