Who else is watching tonight?

Watched the new episode, strangely better without Chris Addison Thought it was OK, Ed Byrne and Stewart were good.
Preferred the older Dave ep, highlights were Dara = penis sausage And there is something about Ava Vidal isnt there..?

Interesting article. The show is still fun but as one comment pointed out, Frankie was often brilliant and now it seems theres less true mocking going on. Now its just messing around and silly discussion, and I did like the earlier series in that sense, more political.
I get what Dara means though, maybe Frankie didnt offer much scope for 'discussion'.

I thought Parsons stole the show last night.
It was a good show all round. I was quite surprised as I wasn't expecting it to be that good.
Also didn't realise that Addison had left (I presume he has)

That Pistorious joke was classic!

I thought he left as he was directing some show in America so maybe someone else will take his place now.
If they ever do a last episode, Frankie should come back
Andy has grown on me I think, like the Ace Kebabs running gag in a SWLTS he did once was great

Saw this just now on catch up. Addison's face is still in opening credits so I assume he's still employed on the show. No sign of Milton Jones or Micky Flanaghan, is this a record? Did that painfully unfunny Kathrine woman acknowledge Rob Beckett's applause as hers? Stuart Francis and Andy Parsons carried the show.

Milton Jones & Micky Flanagan are guests. Chris Addison is a regular, but according to a tweet of his, he is missing this run (up til mid October) because he's in "The Great State of Maryland" so he'll be back next year.

Who would people most like to see on Mock The Week for the first time?

For me it would be Nina Conti with her little Monk friend.

Yes but as a joke.

No thanks. I don't think she added anything to QI.

I think they should get some more political comedians, or at least some who can add some political material. Andy Parsons is almost keeping that up on his own. Sometimes Hugh and one of the others may have a comment or two but that's it.

I'd like to see David Walliams, Catherine Tate, Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross.

Also add in Boris Johnson for the entertainment value.

The problem with Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross is they are contracted to other channels and may not be allowed to appear on the BBC under the terms of their contract.

The main problem is that non of those suit Mock the Week.

A more irreverant show such as Buzzcocks, Cats, ALOTO maybe but those names on MtW would be a nail in the coffin.

She added a lot more than Sean Lock did in my opinion.

Never have Alistair McGowan on again. Ever.

Does anyone know what Alistair MacGowan (who came across as really desperate) has done to his face? He looked so different that it was really distracting.

Oh and Hugh Dennis was right when he talked about Lowestoft being years behind the rest of the country

I'm surprised that other Irish comedians haven't made appearances. Tommy Tiernan, Dylan Moran and Jason Byrne are some I'd like to see.
One I'd really like to see on is Chris Rock. Probably too big time though.

Gay joke, double entendre, inappropriate invasion of personal space, gay joke, implied homosexual rendezvous with random celeb, double entendre, gay joke. = BORING

Boris would be brilliant though.

McGowan at least has some decent impressions to fall back on, would rather have him on there than Micky Flanagan, Sarah Millican et al.

Hope Stewart Francis is on soon.

Jason Byrne appears on a lot of BBC work so there can't be any contract issue but maybe he's just too busy doing other stuff.

Are Tommy Tiernan or Dylan Moran often in England?

I'm not sure what he's like but when I was in Ireland a few years ago there was a lot of publicity about Joe Rooney doing a stand-up tour. He featured in one episode of Father Ted as Father Damo Lennon (Dougal's rebellious friend.)

I thought it was an excellent show last night. Every one had a good contribution. I didn't think MacGowan was that bad. Sure he tries to shoehorn in impressions but what do you expect.

Made me think of the early days when it was more political with Bremner doing impressions of the cabinet. Hugh and Frankie also joined in.

Was disappointed to see only two in the stand up round though. They should have an XL version so they can have the 4 in the stand up round and if anything needs to be cut they can have in in the extended show. Like QI and HIGNFY i'd stick to watching the longer version.

I do think that Gary Delaney came of age somewhat. He joined in with the general discussion, something that Francis and Jones find hard to do.
