I need a Tablet......

I'm looking for a 7 incher (ish).... about £100..... for surfing the web, storing digital images etc.
I dont want to buy one from China as I need it soon.

The Archos in Tesco looked ok but the quality seems suspect..... I like the sound of the Nook HD, but I belive you have to run Android off a card if you want the full benefit.

Any comments welcome.

At the cheap end of the range I'd recommend the Blackberry Playbook as it's go solid build quality and a responsive, bright and clear screen.

If you must have Android then the Acer Iconia is about £99.

The Acer isn't bad, it's got a half decent performance and an SD card slot. I've got one and it does OK, the battery life is quite good.

The build quality is OK but it does feel plasticy, but for under £100 it's good value. It also has GPS which is quite rare for under £100.

Kindle Fire I know a bit over your budget but at least it will be supported by a decent company.

In lower end tablets, they are a pretty good example of "you get what you pay for". If you can stretch your budget by another £14 you can get a Kindle Fire from Amazon. All their Kindle tablets are on sale for Fathers Day until 6pm Monday!

I'd say Acer and Blackberry are both 'decent' companies.

Sorry yes I agree I was referring more to the app side supported by Amazon, than the actual manufacturer.

It is but it doesn't have GPS or Bluetooth which some people might find useful.

I really don't know why they can't stick GPS and BT on all tablets, I mean even dirt cheap Android phones have it.

Not having GPS means a lot of apps that rely on location won't work.

Seems a shame to me.

Won't get one at that price unless you are looking at used ones.

Just bought an Acer Iconia B1 16gb, very impressive as a first tablet, its got the latest Jellybean version of android.
Its quicker than I thought it would be for the price. It has Bluetooth, Gps, front camera and Wi-Fi.
You can also add a 32gb micro sd card.

Bought it from the Acer outlet store. And I love it.
Only problem is WhatsApp doesn't work on it... don't know why.

Whatsapp requires a phone number to activate it, so it's phone-only, not for tablets.

Thanks for the replies....I opted for the Archos 80 from Tesco for the princely sum of 69 pounds.

Only really want it for surfing the web....it should do.

I bought two of these on Boxing day for £49.99 each, one of which failed after three months and was replaced next day no questions asked by Tesco.Used daily by my Grand kids with no complaints
