I agree its got nothing to do with her looks, its to do with her gender... Confident but unattractive females get the same treatment too, you only have to look at some of the comments about women on BGT and The Voice to see that.

I don't think anyone has said on here that she isn't rude, its just been pointed out that some of the guys have been just as rude and yet they don't get the same level of dislike that Luisa does.

The problem is she couldn't, I assume that the "Chocolate Women" had been doing these sort of corporate type days, hence why she was in their task list books.

Luisa said she could do the same, but she couldn't, she can't talk to people very well, her actual task on the day with the cupcakes was a shambles, she hadn't prepared any sort of plan and just fumbled from one thing to another, we actually had one of the task members telling her "he was bored"

I like her, she is clearly the best female candidate this series

I think she is hated because most blame her for Rebecca's elimination; god knows why this forum loves her she did nothing. At least Lusia has ideas and works well.

I don't think she was being actively rude, just a little maladroit and insensitive.

Approaching it from a different angle, the actively polite and business sensitive way of doing it might be to either lie and say for instance that budget constraints mean they are unable to go forward on this occasion, or even just mitigate the truth by saying that since first contacting her the emphasis of the event has changed and the chocolate making is no longer appropriate, but they look forward to engaging with her in future exercises. Basically, just consider how the other person feels, which is perhaps where Luisa falls down.

Knowing how the Apprentice operates I'm sure we'll find a different side to Luisa being presented in future weeks, they obviously saw her as box-office from an early stage and will have manipulated her appearance accordingly.

So that would mean that the people who post on Digital Spy would have to be an incredibly skewed sample of society to badly judge attractive, confident women, as the OP is hypothesising. In the real world, as proven through various studies, attractive confident women - and men - earn more than their gender peer group. Of course, every DS poster could have come here straight from the Daily Mail website, but I doubt it. Being rude is not seen as an attractive trait and Zee has definitely already been shown plenty of 'hate' for it, and I believe Alex will be soon as well, unless he curbs his back seat abuse sessions. The two most confident women I can remember in the series are Ruth Badger and that really horrible one who dated the soldier for a little while. Neither of them were attractive but I'm sure they drew plenty of ire on these forums for their brusque manner, or Machiavellian tendencies, or downright rudeness. I think the majority of posters here are able to differentiate their opinions about the candidates' looks from their opinions about the candidates' personalities.

The basis of the hypothesis is that ' you is all hatin' cos you is well jel of / challenged by Luisa's looks and personality'. If that was true there would be hundreds of posts about hating Leah from the get go, as she is IMO more confident and more attractive than Luisa. In reality, the dislike threads of Leah started to arrive when the poorer aspects of her personality were exposed, as she rebelled against her PM, and then ignored her team. It simply is NOT about looks for the majority of posters.

Right on to the next bit- I don't mean to patronise (so my apologies if this comes across this way) but I think you miss the point.

My sole criticism is that the level of dislike towards some (please note I say SOME, not all) confident attractive women on DS is entirely disproportionate from my observations.

I think the whole 'jealous' (aka jellus) argument I see on here is a weak one on both sides and not accurate IMO. For the record I do not think jealousy is the reason.

The fact that Leah was a doctor wasn't irrelevant though. They were going into a sales pitch, and Luisa's argument was that she was a saleswoman in her daily life and Leah was a doctor, therefore Luisa was best placed to make the pitch. Which she then did, and won it.

I thought she was unnecessarily brusque in the way she said it and obviously Leah has proved to be more than a decent saleswoman herself, but it was the first task, and nobody knew one another's skill-sets yet. I thought the content of what she was saying was (as it often is, under the squealing and the unnecessary aggression) reasonably sensible.

Not sure owning a few shops counts as being a "salesperson", the people on the tills at your local supermarket aren't sales people. Has she actually done any selling in her job or does she serve?

What you say is very pertinent, nothing wrong with her business sense when she realised she could save her team hundreds of pounds by doing it herself was the right thing to do. However the "but" here boils down to manners, in business and in life sometimes it is about the tone of your voice and the look in your eyes. I wouldn't say Luisa is rude but she is certainly not charming

No I really am missing the point you are trying to make. I thought the point you were trying to make is that because I don't like Luisa, I am a knuckle dragging misogynist with a hatred for strong, attractive women. As opposed to the fact that I dislike her character on the show because she has been shown to be immature, insensitive and catty. Your OP attempted to tar everyone who dislikes Luisa with the same brush, and I find that infuriating, which is why I'm so stridently against you - not to mention that as my link showed, research has shown that Western society as a whole is positively inclined towards confident, attractive people.

I'm not quite sure how you've managed to jump to some of those conclusions based on what I wrote on both this and the 'Luisa is vile' thread. I could just repeat myself but we would end up going round in circles which would quickly become tiresome for all, including you and I, I'd imagine.

Almost- my point is that there are certain types of women in this world- celebs/ pop stars/ reality contestants etc (this is NOT just about Luisa) that you just know in advance won't be popular with certain types of people on Digital Spy even before people really get to know them (again, I am NOT talking about the real world here).
Whilst I agree she hasn't exactly done a lot to endear herself to the public, in my opinion the magnitude of posts about her are way over the top and disproportionate to what she has actually done.

As the most attention seeking of the candidates - apart from perhaps Alex - she has garnered the most attention, most of it unsurprisingly negative. So if you mean disproportionate in volume terms, I disagree. If you mean there are people on other threads saying that they'd like to shoot her and hang her head over the mantelpiece, then yes, that is disproportionate. Happy now?

I don't hate her. She's a horrid girl though.
I have only replied to people who have championed her because they fancy her.
What's worse, disliking somebody who is a horrible person for being pretty or liking a horrible person because one would like to treat her like the outside of a sausage roll?
