I think it's fair enough and it may seem petty but I like his attitude as he said on the Graham Norton show 'I'm not having it'. Quite right too IMO

Laughable. Nothing is proven by a change in format of the TV show.
I think it's highly likely this is the reason for the change. |

I believe that the change in the show's format was announced before all the issues with Stella. I can't be sure on that though.
When actually did Stella start working with Sugar? Was it at the time that she actually won, or the time that the footage was shown about a year later? If it was at the time the footage was shown, the change in the format can't have had anything to do with Stella, as they were already underway filming Series 7 by that point. |

We don't know the date Stella actually started her lawsuit - just when it was reported to the media.
Unless you have access to confidential legal documents? |

I'd doubt seriously that they'd be FILMING the next series before declaring the winner of the last

Regardless of when they were filmed, Series 7 began broadcasting five months after the finale of Series 6 was broadcast. I don't think there would have been time to change the entire format, hold auditions for contestants with business plans (which go on for months) and to film the entire series in that time. |

5 months is ample time to make the series. Why would it take months to audition the contestants with the business plans, they are probably taken from a whittled down list of the best and most interesting CV's supplied.

Plus, the first series of Junior Apprentice (which was broadcast when Series 6 had already completed filming) contained an advert at the end of each episode to apply for Series 7, which they couldn't have been advertising for had the format already been changed. I think that the format was changed because Lord Sugar is semi-retired and didn't run all his companies anymore (AMStrad was sold etc.) |

There really doesn't need to be any guesswork - the ET's decision was made public back in April so anyone can read the chronology as well as the ET's reasoning and very trenchant criticism of Stella English
http://www.judiciary.gov.uk/Resource...ld-grp-ltd.pdf Stella E began working for LS in September 2010 (before she was told in December that she had won) and under her formal contract in Jan 2011, so the following series had already been filmed. |

Feel sorry for Stella and believe every word she says about her treatment
And that's proven by the shows format being changed as LS clearly does not want to be responsible for these people as they are in his employ. |

Retaining the name 'apprentice' even though the prize isn't to be an apprentice. With the last person to get a job - Stella - starting litigation with LS?
I think it's highly likely this is the reason for the change. |

well at least he used relatively cheap lawyers. If it was Donald Trump and his apprentices, we'd probably be looking at hundreds of thousands of legal fees - something that will bankrupt you.

I think that aswell. Lord Sugar seems to enjoy more to open different businesses, also he said he wanted to inspire other people to create their own.
According to this, her first day was on Jan the 5th 2011 http://www.heatworld.com/Celeb-News/...n-Sugar-today/ They asked him what was wrong with people called Carol on You're Hired! He responded, 'Well, you can't say Cautious Hilary, can you'? They have never had a Carol on The Apprentice, incidentally... |

To be honest, Stella English did not come across like an entrepreneur at all, she came across like a bonified corporate employee to me.
I'm a freelancer and work hard around clients needs and wants, if for a second they doubt my contribution or taltent my contract gets pulled. SImple as that. Stella had a good run with a 100K job, and plenty of time to demonstrate that her contribution to the company far exceeds what she is being paid. If you don't then you should expect to be fired no iffs and no butts. There's far too many people in this country who want everything handed to them. Too many unfair dismissal legal departments and claims. |

I think it's highly likely this is the reason for the change. Just because the format changed after Stella won, does not mean the two events are linked. It's equally likely that the change was merely to freshen up the series and add some new points of interest to the format - which is the way I always saw it. Just like how this year, the business plans have been revealed from the start. |

Plus the old format the winner was only contracted to one of Lord Sugar's companies for 1 year, with no guarantee it'd be renewed[couple of the winning candidates have signed a contract for an extra year] |

Just like how this year, the business plans have been revealed from the start. The change of format makes a nonsense of the show. Who cares if you can sell? Who cares if you can impress a load of tossers in a room? You are going to be in a FIFTY-FIFTY partnership with LS, he can't tell you what to do, he can't do anything. The show should be re-named 'Business-Partner' because the winners aren't apprentices. |
