I probably have takeaway 2 or 3 times a year. That hasn't changed due to recession.

This. Any takeaway I've had in the last three years has been paid for by someone else

If I drank less, I could afford to get a take away

I had a take away last week, first time in a year. Before that I used to have a take away once a month.

I cut back because they were making me fat. The recession hasn't really affected me.

I only usual get a takeaway after a night out. If I don't fancy a kebab or pizza then I sometimes make my own. It's not because of the recession. I've always been stingy

I can make chips and gravy at home for pennies.

If i'm in and fancy a takeaway type meal then more often than not I will attempt my own version. Not only because I enjoy doing it but because I can time it better to when I want to eat instead of relying on the takeaway.

I've cut them out to lose weight. Shed nearly two stone since I binned the take aways at new year. Probably saved myself a bundle of money or really poor food too. There's not really a downside.

What recession are we talking about? There isn't one in the UK at the moment.

My habits haven't changed, the recession didn't affect me.

Oh that too plus I find that I enjoy cooking and everytime I have a take away I am always winging about things that are wrong with it.

We have one probably three times a month. It's one of the few "luxuries" that we spend our extra cash on, so I don't feel bad or feel the need to reduce it

We normally get a takeaway every Saturday night. Sometimes if we're having a proper lazy Sunday we'll get one then as well.

Haven't cut back for monetary reasons, but someone on here put me onto this site: http://ratings.food.gov.uk/default/en-GB which has seriously made me stop ordering!! There's only about 3-4 places in town that passed :vomit smiley:

I have had more takeaways lately than ever. We generally get a couple a month. Our main haunt is a kebab shop. They do the best chicken kebabs ever with plenty of crisp salad BUT i thought i would check Specktater link above just in case (you never know what the back is like). Luckily it got 4/5 .... so I will continue to frequent this establishment

I keep getting very disappointed with meal deliveries. What normally happens is, I get to a stage where I've no food in, can't be bothered to walk 30 secs to tesco, then I get really hungry and order something in, knowing that I'll just want two bites of it then I'll chuck the remainder out.

I've cut down on takeaways because of the shit quality, rather than the money. But £15-20 really is a colossal waste of money on such crap food, when I can buy nice ingredients and cook a meal 10x better. So that's why I've started the bulk cooking for freezer thing.

If my delivery food was better then I wouldn't mind paying good money for it.

The only take aways I get now are fish and chips, only very occasionally. I used to get other stuff once or twice a week - but no more - times is hard in the frozen north.

We used to have a take-away about once or twice a week. Now there can be months between them.
It's a real treat if we have one these days.
