On BT Vision yes, it's available now via Infinity fibre (not sure about BT adsl broadband but if not it's planned soon).

Not on BT-Youvew unless Sky allow them to - and there's no sign of that happening any time soon.

BT will probably have to go to OFCOM to try and force Sky's hand re. Youview... but if they do, Sky will appeal that and it could drag on for months or years. Just like the present kerfuffle over the pricing of BT Sports 1 & 2 that's still unresolved after a year or two (but could be soon).

I have adsl broadband at the moment and don't want inifinity with the extra wiring involved so I wil see what happens when my dtt sky sports disappears glad you think it will work in the future I also have a you view humax box hooked up so I suppose sky will eventually give in to bt and stick it on bts you view system bought the box for £50 from a polish woman I thought that was a good deal

Neville_Breaksp - I completely agree with what "d'@ve" has said with a few caveats. BT Wholesale (which BT Retail use to distribute their TV product) have both infrastructural solutions for Infinity (FTTC etc.) and copper to the exchange. The Infinity customers should get HD but the "copper" customers will only get SD delivered. Also with the SD there will be a minimum speed that BT Retail will deliver SD over as well.

Don't underestimate the complexity of the negotiations that will need to go on between the BT Group and Sky to deliver a solution to the YouView box. It will also have to involve the YouView organisation as well as the solution will need to be agreed by the YouView partners.

Sky also might want a "chunk" of money from the BT Group as well.

Hi Infinidium - just curious, why would the negotiations need to involve the Youview organisation and partners, surely it would just involve BT. Just as Sky's agreement to show all the sky sports channels on youview with TalkTalk would have been done directly with TalkTalk (obviously the delivery needs to follow any youview guidelines but that would all be in place and agreed already).

The reason I say with the YouView organisation, because BT are a formal partner of YouView they might need to get agreement from the other partners before they can put additional services on the YouView box - I am sure that had to do this when they implemented the Vision service on the box.

But aren't TT also partners in YV, and they still put the channels on their service.

Aren't they also supposed to be putting the channels on the EPG come summer, rather than the TT Player?

It will be both. And I'm not aware BT need YV's permission to broadcast its own channels on the YV platform.
