I didn't know who half of the people were that she was trying to impersonate and some of the characters I did know were just so dated. I mean Janet Street Porter FFS. I half expected her to do Mavis Riley off Corrie circa 1989, ala Les Dennis!

I never understood the hype surrounding her, but then that's never stopped Cowell hyping up undeserving acts before has it.”

I'm not saying she's the worlds best singer , but she put in a decent shift singing live trying out for song for Europe a few years back , I was quite surprised actually, she's definitely better than francine though.

James More should have been in the final in place of her!”

I agree, from the first audition, i didnt think she was that good, when i saw her semi-final and the way the judges went so toe-cringy over the top saying how brilliant, wonderful, should have her own show etc my thoughts then was "what a load of utter bollox", hence i started a thread about it wondering what i must be missing(must admit the majority of reply's thought more or less what i thought, she really is not "funny" and WTF was that meant to be?) now the voting figures have been released most of the public saw what we did, so Cowell either you dont know what the hell you are on about(and your puppet judges are just going along with what you say) OR you are friends with Francine and made sure she got to the final, i think it is the latter TBH

Do you mean the single version or the slightly less impressive pre-production recording? I guess they're both bad!

At the risk of causing annoyance by repeating my earlier link..

Katie with auto-tune
Katie without auto-tune

^ If you didn't know they released "A Whole New World" as a single then you must have also missed their amazing album! Check out these glowing reviews!

Anyway, back to Francine!

In the '70's a lot of "impressionists" made a reasonable living doing copies of Mike Yarwood's impersonations of famous people, rather than the famous people themselves.

There was show on ITV called "Who do you do?", I recall someone like Michael Crawford saying in an interview: "Tommy Cooper and I are getting our own show, it's called 'Who else do you do' ?"

I only saw a small part of this talentless "impressionist" and just felt all she was doing was copying other impressionists work.

^ I'm not sure about Francine but Philip Green's Natalie Cassidy impression just seemed to be an impersonation of the impression Morgana Robinson did of Natalie on Very Important People.

Wasn't impressed with her at all so I fast forwarded through her act in the semi final and final. The only act I did that too in the final.
