Sorry but how does a woman get through tons of security onto a live saturday night TV final? I mean how did she know there would be an orchestra to hide in, theres all sorts of questions.

The easier explanation is to suggest she was set up to do it. Either to help them get votes or to stop them winning.

Idk why she did that but its genius!!!

She was a violinist who no doubt hid the eggs in her "stuff". Can't really blame security who would have thought it was part of the act at first.

Simon may have carried on talking but he sound shaken up - not that I blame him.

All the immature people, who think assault is funny. I wouldn't want to have eggs thrown at me, so I wouldn't wish it on someone else. Especially on live TV. Simon may have a big ego, but he doesn't seem to be a bad person.

I think that is the last we will see of Cowell on TV. He is genuinely scared of getting shot or stabbed live on TV and that egg incident will scare him badly.

She won't be getting any TV gigs for a long time that's for sure!!

Oh I can. It's a Simon Cowell show so for the cool kids, everything is staged and "fake". Ask someone for an explanation as to why this particular stunt was staged though and they won't have an answer

She was part of the string quartet apparently. Not a good career move.

Yeh and when they dumped goo over people in gameshows that was assualt too.

Heres a hint, eggs dont hurt. They make a tiny mess.Handily Cowell doesnt seem to have got any goo on his shirt so again, over dramatic reaction.

I say there were two "eggers", the trajectory of the eggs on Simon indicates a hidden egger. Perhaps behind the grassy knoll.

Perhaps organised by the Egg Council for who knows what nefarious reasons!

Even easier, she WAS part of the orchestra.

I wish they'd let Richard and Adam sing again - she ruined the act! They let that girl Holly sing again a few years ago when she broke down mid-performance.

perhaps she's a disgruntled Steve Brookstein fan?

The one reason I believe it wasn't staged it it's arguably ruined an act mid performance and not even Cowell would stoop to those levels. But it did cause everyone with twitter open to switch ITV on.. so I can see why some think it may have been staged.

Surprised the director didn't switch to another camera view.

I don't think she was ACTUALLY a violinist, in fact, I don't think any of the quartet were.

Don't they just mime to an instrumental backing track?

Not really. I work as part of a quartet myself as a Clarinet player and believe me no one will ever remember her, no one even pays attention to our faces. I mean for god sake its not going to be all over the news "Breaking 24 hour story, woman X, 24, living in London, unleashed torrent of eggs live on TV. Calls for her to face prison".
