Difficult, as they were so good, so moving and it's great they choose this country to showcase themselves which they obviously have an affection with.

However, does seem a bit of an anomaly that theoretically I could get on a plane next week to Tashkent - where I've never set foot in before, flip 50ps of my elbow, catch them, win Uzbekistan's Got Talent and never go back there again.

They live in Hungary, so it's doubtful any work here.

You have talent! Better than the 14 year old lad anyway.

If this was the case, in Uzbekistan you'd likely end up on the stamps over there!

Who really cares. They were allowed to enter and have gone through all the auditions and rounds like everyone else. The public voted them. Did all these complaining actually vote for their favourites?

You might not win a quarter of a million to take back to your country though...

its typical that when someone complains about them not being British you get the name callers out - calling them BNP / EDL - racists etc - its this kind of talk that has ruined the country and made people scared to be proud of their own culture and country. I am proud to be British, I hate the BNP and EDL, but why everytime I talk with pride for my own people I become a racist ion everyones eyes (obviously because they are all brainwashed)

Its people like you who ruin the country, you make bigoted generalised statements and when calle you on them on other threads you dont bother to asnwer you just post more tripe.

The reason you come across as a bigot and racially motivated st is becasue for instance on the other therad you specifically talk about Non British and other races flourishing over the British.

I find it uite easy to be patriotic and proud without being bigoted at the same time, and I am not brainwashed but you certainly sound it.

How are so many people so spectacularly missing the point here? There is no such programme as "Big Brother UK" and never has been. It's just Big Brother. Nationality is not an issue at all. It just happens to be a show made in the UK.

If I buy a box of Shredded Wheat I don't want to open it and find it full of Weetabix do I? Or a tin of beans, only to find it has cat food in it instead. Yes, the "does what it says on the tin" argument.

I would be proud to be British if it wasn't the small number of disgusting bigots that have reared their heads.

Big Brother isn't about representing Britain.

Big Brother (UK) is part of the Big Brother franchise which is Dutch. Britians Got talent is the British TV Version of the Got Talent series , it does not mean you have to be British Passport holders to appear on it

What would happen if someone from Northern Ireland (who considered themselves Irish, not British) were to win this show? Being from NI makes them part of the UK but not GB (hence the correct and full Olympic title being Team GB and Northern Ireland)...would everyone be moaning then or would they say it was ok because people don't know the difference?

No one complained about Ryan O'Shaughnessey being on the show last year (he was from ROI) or again, is that ok because it's next door?

Very foolish comment indeed. Nobody here is complaining about the winners as such. What they are complaining about is the mis-leading name of the programme. Mis-leading people in TV and advertising is actually quite a serious issue you know.

It seems the rules were changed for BGT at some point. There were no Irish auditionees in the early years of BGT but in the last year or two, the rules were altered to allow Irish people in and now it seems anyone of any nationality can audition.

Yeah, with one or two exceptions, most people here seem to be arguing semantics, rather than being rabidly xenophobic.

Of course, if we take the title as a literal statement, then technically, it is still a fair representation of the show. Britain does have talent (albeit, of a standard suitable for this sort of arena). However, nothing in the title suggests that a British act has to win the show. The title is simply a generic description of the majority of the acts.

Its not misleading at all , the show is the British franchise of the Got Talent series as in it is made and aired here , other nationalities are not barred from it.

Like the rest of the Got Talent series as long as you have the right to live or work in that country you can enter

Did the Spanish go crazy when a Brit won their version ?
