What does that prove other than that comedy is subjective? Start a thread slamming virtually ANY comedian and you'll find your comments will be endorsed 'over and over again', no matter how popular the act. In fact, the more popular, the more commentors you'll probably find saying they're no good.

Very good point. Simon doesn't see the reality, which is that it was an inherently funny situation that most of the country was probably already laughing about.
