I posted a thread on that and it looks like it does have some traction - Those votes going to Jack instead of Steve would've had it in the bag, but I suspect there was split voting.

That's actually really good and saddening at the same time.”

They ought to give him a spot on the Royal Variety anyway as his act is proper variety and there's unlikley to be another ventriloquist on the bill.

Thought she was poor tonight compared to the semi - Final
Why on earth did they leave the impression that Luminites were in a run off for third with the two boys ?
Surely for the final Steve should have had the benefit of being called in the last two seeing as he WAS actually fourth

If you look at the percentages for the semi finals, the three highest ones make up the top three of the final. Those three are way ahead of everyone else, so maybe it didn't actually make much difference. Richard and Adam were obviously hugely popular anyway.

Such a shame for Joseph Hall - he was so close to getting to the final over pre-skool; I felt he really deserved to be there. I wanted him or Steve for the wildcard - shame we couldnt have both, good variety acts.

That's about right although I think the majority of posters on here will not agree. Richard and Adam don't seem to be very popular with users of this forum.

I don't think the egg lady altered the vote at all.

A few remarks:

- WOW at Steve coming 4th, I actually thought his act was a bit of a mess and not as funny as his semi final one. But still worthy of the wildcard.

- Actual LOL at Meat Diva beating Modupe! Poor girl. That was one of the biggest bus-throwing-unders of all time.

- Surprised that Asanda and Arisxandra came in the very bottom, below Pre Skool. Just shows that the public just don't seem that impressed by cute singing children anymore.

I think having 3 cute singing children might have split the vote... If there had only been one picking up the votes that all 3 got then that would probably have gotten 4th or 5th place.

Arixandra had 3 below her including pre school.

Very surprised at Francine only getting 2%!!! I was no fan of hers but she seemed relatively popular and I was expecting a top 6 finish for her.

Not my favourite act, but I'm surprised that in the semi-finals Richard and Adam were more popular than Attraction if you go by pure percentages of all the semis.

It was such a fine margin between Richard and Adam I think there could be some merit to the idea that the egg woman may have made that margin of error that made the difference.

Steve had a great night, and going by the stats somebody like Francine appeared to be very popular going by the semi-finals, but in the final got only 2% and was second to last.
So I think that Steve could well have come 3rd if it wasn't for egg woman. But there was so little in it in the end between Steve and Richard and Adam that both acts did well.
With everyone else below fourth place being significantly lower than the front runners.

I think that's one of the interesting thing about these results.
That despite Simon thinking cute kids will bring in the 'aww' vote, in the end it didn't translate into votes from the public.
I think many here including myself thought that the cute kids would get the sympathy vote. It appears to not be the case, this year at least.

It just goes to show you that perceived popularity on these shows can have an effect on all of us.
When somebody 'appears' to be popular on the show, with the judges giving standing ovations, and the theatre audience going wild, the truth can be very surprising indeed.
I presume that even the bookies didn't reflect a 2% of the vote for Francine either?

What we often perceive to be popular in these shows isn't always the reality.

Francine was squeezed by the 'comedic' vote being taken by Jack and a resurgent Steve. She was (arguably) the weakest on the night and got punished.

Her Deirdre Barlow impressions were worse. Overall I think her performance was far better the first time around.

Its not the first year where I've ended up thinking that a different lot if people vote in the semi finals to the final.

The public seem to wake up and come to their senses for the final, as they generally have again. Even the producers manipulation seems slightly more geared towards talent in the final.

And all those people who thought they were going to pick up the sympathy vote.

The issue with those two is that they were trying to sound older than they actually were, unlike Gabz.

Alex Kierl could have been in the final it seems. He would have probably done better than Asanda.

Steve very close to the top three. If it wasn't for the whole egg incident he would have been in the top 3.

Very interesting! Seeing those semi results, it makes so much sense how Richard/Adam and Attraction got Top 2 as they stormed the semi's.

The most baffling in a good way was Steve. He came 3rd in his semi, but ended up getting 4th out of 11 in the final. Looks like people really got behind him, and SO close to getting in the Top 3!! Let's not forget he was 4th in order (where it is more difficult to get votes), if he did his act 20 mins later, he would have got 3rd place.

Also James More getting 4th in semi's. Damn, he should have been Top 3 instead of Youth Creation.
