Not my favourite act, but I'm surprised that in the semi-finals Richard and Adam were more popular than Attraction if you go by pure percentages of all the semis.
Doesn't mean anything unless you know the actual totals.

Shocked at Francine's placing in the final! I expected her to get in the top half. Apart from that, nothing interesting about these results, pretty much what I had expected.

Gutted Francine was second from last! And no, before the negative nancies descend and declare I need my ears seen to, I just happened to like her (god forbid I have a different opinion). Same for Asanda, it's awful they were bottom 2 and Jack/Richard and Adam were top 3 :/

Very pleased to see that Steve would have made top 3 if it wasn't for egg-gate though!

Jack lost it when he disrespected Her Majesty
He may have lost the vote, but he won the argument

Of the night, Steve was the best act.. I applaud attraction for doing something a bit more uplifting - but their previous performances where much harder hitting.

Some of the other acts where very poor compared to past performances - maybe just repetition.

I am mortified at Francine's 2%. The song definitely ruined her chances. I thought she would be in the top 5.

Biggest surprise for me is Francine. With the BGT machine fully behind her and getting a half decent slot she totally bombed with the voters. I think if Steve had got her slot he may have nicked third place.

Jordan did well to make top 6 giving singers split vote and he was on quite early on

Francine took a hell of a hit to go from winning to only 2% of the vote. But then you never know if that night might have been a weak one, where on another the top two may have not been in the top 4.
Given that both finalists from that particular semi were in the bottom two I think that scenario is highly likely. They were popular in that particular selection but not when put with the other finalists. It does make you wonder if they'd have made the final at all if they'd been in another semi.

It does appear from the overall results that overly confident singing kids aren't the vote grabbers that Cowell seems to think they are.

I wonder how many votes there were in total throughout?

I think people get confused by percentages. There's no reason to think that Richard and Adam had more votes than attraction. We have no figures, only a % on votes of that night.

I think Francine was lucky to make the Final, by far the worst comedian of the night and her impressions probably would only have appealed to a small ITV2 audience.

How did Gabz only come 7th. She was awesome. Also all the kids except Jack came bottom 5. That definitely shows that they are not getting cuteness vote.

It just goes to show you that perceived popularity on these shows can have an effect on all of us.
When somebody 'appears' to be popular on the show, with the judges giving standing ovations, and the theatre audience going wild, the truth can be very surprising indeed.
I presume that even the bookies didn't reflect a 2% of the vote for Francine either?

What we often perceive to be popular in these shows isn't always the reality.
Very true, that why a wildcard for a third placed act was so wrong ,because as I suspected Alice was more popular than two of the third placed acts.and as you see with what happened to Steve , francine and all the young singers/dancers anything can happen in the final.

Semi-final 4 (with Francine and James More) was the closest out of all of them - Francine had the lowest winning percentage so no surprise that she didn't do well in the final.

Pleased that Steve did so well in the final, but gutted for Joseph that he lost out on a place by 0.5%

Slightly surprised that The Luminites didn't do a bit better in the final. Repeating a song wasn't a good move, especially in a final laden with pop singers where standing out was important. The kid singers most likely split a vote and Jordan seemed to fall by the wayside in the final.

I guess the big headline is Francine bombing on the final night and Steve getting a huge surge of support.

I obviously considered that when I said "If you go by pure percentages".

I found it interesting that apart from Jack, the children all got low votes and were in the lower half of voting in relation to the acts the public got behind and voted for.

Asanda finished in third in her semi-final so lacked a bit of support going into the final and didn't do anything to bring it back plus her and Arixsandra presumably took votes off each other. PreSkool were arguably hindered by performing 1st and Gabz couldn't have been helped by going third... repeating The One wasn't a smart move though; neither was the Luminites decision to repeat their dull audition song.

Agreed. Luminites were 2nd last to perform so I thought they would get 3rd. So for Steve to beat them when he did his act 4th is pretty incredible.

Without knowing the actual voting totals its impossible to know that... The percentages tell you how they performed against the other competitors on the same night but not how they rated compared to people on other nights.

This is also true , but my point was that based on even on these percentage figures it's unfair for the wild card to be picked for the third place contestant, I would however wager a safe bet that someone who got 12.3 % on one night got more votes than someone who got 7.2% on another night
