Changes for next year
Nothing too drastic. Just a few changes which could improve the viewing figures and such.
1) Probably have the acts perform again before the judges choose who to put through to the semi-finals (that's if they don't end up putting through like 200 from the auditions) - will probably allow us to get to know the acts a bit more, and the 'You're through to the next round' line that they always tell the acts at the auditions would also have a bit of a meaning. Knowing the acts a bit more would probably make the semi-finals a bit less predictable. 2) The results shows - they have the trouble of having half of the 30-minute show as filler, and the other half the result. They could do more by talking to the judges perhaps. They could also do with having guests on that aren't music acts - there's X Factor for that. Having a comedian, magician, past finalists etc, I would usually prefer. Also, they could do a pre-results Britain's Got More Talent. Another thing is the way they announce the result. I'm not a fan of the whole "you... are going home/are in the top 3". They should go straight with "the first/second/final act in the top 3 is..." and then as they do, announce the act with the highest votes and proceed with the judges vote with the other two. The same with the final as well instead of the "you...are/not in the top 3", but I'm not sure of the whole "the act in third place is..." as it puts a damper on things - couldn't they go straight to the winner? It's just that. Everything else I feel is pretty much up to scratch. Thoughts? |

The judges might be thinking something like this:
When shall we four meet again? In thunder, lightning, or in rain? When the hurlyburly's done, When the battle's lost and won. |

David Walliams to actually judge the acts (especially in the semi-finals and finals) rather than just sitting there saying he loved them
Guests on the results show to not just be singers - this is a variety show after all isn't it? Simon Cowell to cover up his chest hair. Nobody finds him attractive More variety of in the semi-finals. Weed out the average singers and replace with magicians/dancers/comedians etc Egg lady to join the judging panel in place of Amanda Holden. |
