I agree. Why would Apple of all companies copy that heap of junk?
Things catch up, move ahead and then get overtaken again. That is standard development. Theres a heck of a lot of catching up taking place though. Will they bother catching up with the hardware too? I have my doubts there. |

But are developers still flogging IDs?
I guess Apple does not mind as its x number devices per developer ID and loadsa more dosh for Apple from volunteer guinea pigs. If it runs too hot they might just make a fortune in repair bills too. |

Ok, first impressions are pretty good. Very different from iOS 6, but I suppose that's the point. The control centre is excellent, and i've already added one number to the block list
![]() The only issue i've found so far is that the official ebay app doesn't work. |

Now I've used it my first initial impressions were I didn't like it as much as thought I would.
It's staring to grow on me a little, but do have mixed feelings over different things. I do like the control center but as I'm using an otterbox defender case its a bit more difficult to do that swipe up. It's not so much the case when your holding the phone on its side though, as while using safari and reading on DS and when I scroll the forum pages up the control center appears now and then. Also in safari, unless there's something I'm missing it seems they've done away with the full screen view that was in iOS6. Notes is something else I'd like to see a change in or have some option to change the theme as at the moment its a white background, but if I write an address or anything it decides is important it highlights them in bright yellow which makes it hard too see against the white background. Unless I'm imagining things it seems that my battery life has improved considerably.(it either that or I'm just using it less than I thought) I was dissapointed to see that I couldn't swipe to delete my emails, but found that you still can its just you need to swipe from right to left rather than left to right as I did on iOS6. |

i actually found on the first day on full charge, it did hammer my battery somewhat with the music playing I did.
anyway, i'm going back to iOS6 because the amount of lag is starting to become a problem for me - if i'm listening to music and want to look up something online, it's very noticeable. |

Interesting though as I have still not worked out whether Apple will manage to update their Samsung SOC for the next iPhone. (logically it is Qualcomm) I'm lightly guessing ARM seems very much to given a name and made general release on those A9+hardware Divide cores. It is the new Cortex A12. |

I was noticing poor battery, and buggy apps - pretty much as expected. However it's been much better since I erased the phone and did a clean install of iOS7.
No mind though, i'm happy to go back to 6 and wait now. It's not going to be that long i suppose, all things considered. |

And hopefully the core Apple base who have stuck with Apple for years leave and go elsewhere and show Apple they can't just churn out any old rubbish and expect a profit.

What I would like to know is how it got all the journalists parrot trained on the word "Skeuomorphic".
Adopted Apple words have a fascinating marketing history. The weird question here is why they are almost using it to stain IOS 6. I suppose now IOS 6 is going, journalists can slag it off with Apple's full approval. Cuts some risk in having a 'WIndows 8' day I guess. That GUI design of course is beta. so obviously they will say its in flux when they simply abandon that kindergarten look. |

With Notes, they should really add folders, and the ability to sort alphabetically as well as by date. Although I've been using Catch which I really like. |

This looks interesting ..
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tech/new...developer.html Sub-folders is a good idea. The animation and graphical tweaks, if true, are also a nice touch. |

I bet being able to delete the likes of Newstand won't be achievable in the official release.

if you believe cnet etc they are shipping low cost parts now from China for their expected lower end range of devices.
The weird thing here is that a 'low cost plastic phone' is likely to have better reception and better GPS. So what do Appe then do, if non premium works better than premium? |

Probably just code for 'non metal'. It would be hard to justify going backwards on the dual core chipsets.

With actively tuned antennas you can always achieve the optimal standing wave ratio so I doubt there will be any noticeable difference.
Another bonus is that you will also get improved standby life, something badly needed by the more occasional user. |

Indeed. But it now does allow you to hide NewsStand etc in a folder.
