Made in Bristol have started tweeting saying they launch soon on Freeview 8 and Sky 117. Surprised at them being on Sky!

They indicated to me that it was likely to be an autumn launch for the service. Mind you, that was a couple of months ago and perhaps their launch schedule has changed. As for them being on the Sky EPG, I assume that they'll be free to air and possibly on Freesat too at some stage.

Made in Leeds have previously announced they would be on Freesat and Sky http://www.a516digital.com/2013/05/m...h-freesat.html - pershaps this is an indicator that Made in Cardiff and Made in Tyne and Wear will join them?

Their website says November. They have a very cavalier definition of "soon".

CBM were coming soon for long enough and look what happened there.

I wonder what other channels or stations will join the local multiplex?

Heart & capital tv?
BBC radio Bristol?
Jack fm / The Breeze? Celador appear to have deep pockets.

There's not much spare bandwidth - looking at the comux proposals there will be 2 quasi national SD services or 1 quasi national HD service, plus the local service which could carry subtitles and/or audio description and a small amount of interactivity. It looks like there may be enough room for a radio station if audio description and interactivity are dropped.

We don't know what the national channels are likely to be yet (although Sony's services and Capital TV are in Manchester so may be looking for space)

Was looking at the Made in Bristol TV website. The news section is odd (to say the least). It certainly doesn't look like they are going to start broadcasting soon; although it still says November. I'm sure that a 2014 start was previously mentioned?

I've not found ukfree to be terribly reliable in the past. Does make you wonder why more effort isn't being put into giving potential viewers clear information. After a flurry of publicity earlier in the year; I suspect many people think that nothing has come of it.

That's the multiplex switch-on date, not the channel launch date.

All the multiplex switch-on dates are listed here: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...&postcount=333

That is an official list taken from a legally binding Ofcom document. I wouldn't trust ukfree as far as I can throw it, it's a jumble of facts and speculation.

A more realistic estimate would be spring 2014, sometime in the March to May window. All of these local TV companies, bar Estuary TV, seem to have had wildly optimistic broadcast start dates.

Seeing as the studio is in Emma--Chris Way in Filton I assume the stations on air name will be "Made in South Gloucestershire" because thats where it actually is!

Stand by for non-stop news from the MoD and UWE!

According to this, City TV in Birmingham won't be launching until mid 2014

Saw a tweet today where Made in Bristol mentioned a Spring 2014 launch. Seems it has slipped from "soon" to November, then January and now Spring.

Most of the originally proposed launch dates slipped because the licences themselves were awarded late, and then the multiplex licence itself was awarded late. This basically meant any proposed air date before next spring was delayed as the multiplex itself wasn't on air (not to mention some licences having planned air dates before Comux's planned air dates for there multiplex - of course when the stations applied they didn't know Comux's roll-out plan and vice-verse).

I think they need to rebrand already, perhaps Carrot Cruncher TV (CCTV) would be more suitable.

Anybody remember the old Rediffusion local Bristol Channel http://www.rediffusion.info/Bristol/ way back when. That was good for a laugh too with all the Knowle Wasters.

I wonder if these new channels will last as long.
