I had a look at the schedule earlier and they are repeating the 9pm news into the following day until the 6pm news. When is news no longer new? This channel is looking like it will be even worse than I expected and my expectations were very low to begin with.

OMG! Please someone reassure me that large multicoloured dog, a good couple of inches in from the edge of the screen, is not going to be the dog they use when they go live tomorrow.

Ps updated promo loop on air.

I have to say that things are now looking very positive as far as the launches of Made TV's channels go as I have checked our local channel and seen the dog for that in the top left hand corner of the screen[Made in Tyne and Wear], ours here does not launch until early November but in the mean time I not only hope for a live section on their website for a sneak preview of what we have in store but for your views on your channel launch.

Humm Made in very posh Clifton springs to mind!

At least the dog has moved in a NW direction and shrunk.

News about a burst water main from 25th September isn't really news, considering it's been fixed for over a week.

This is very disappointing so far.

Is this just for BS based postcodes ? I'm in a GL postcode north of Bristol . Will I get it on sky ? As i get my freeview from Oxford due to hills in the way to Mendip.

It's a first night, and all live, but actually, production values are not too bad. The DOG is acceptable (and unique at least), the promised programming looks to be good. There'll be a lot of repetition until they build up an archive, but I'm not going to poo-poo a local channel at this early stage.

One thing that strikes me is that the adverts are very well tailored at the average Bristolian....though I'm not sure why the "Special Ops Agency" are targetting the average cider-swilling luvver.

Was the dim lighting of the 9pm news deliberate do you think? The news reader was pretty good I thought but the reporting and editing of some of the VTs was a bit amateurish.

It sounds like it's raining over at the Made in Bristol studio, very noisey during the news links. Very poor picture quality when ever the camera pans during the news VT's.

Was the news in the 6pm to 6.30pm slot supposed to last about 10 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of adverts, trailers, promo loop and two weather updates?

I thought Wake Up Bristol might have been a news/weather/travel loop. ... but it was still the 2 hour loop from launch night. Including last nights 9pm news.

...any why is west Somerset the key discussion point on a channel dedicated to Bristol. People nearly Hinckley are more likely to pick up made in Cardiff?

Edit: but the journalist is good.

Tonights effort is much better (although they are showing the 6 at 9pm!)

I noticed a significant mismatch between the sound levels in the studio and on the recorded outside broadcast reports and that needs to be corrected. Also, I'd like to have seen the bulletin last the whole half hour. It's promising but a bit more work is needed.

Why have weather update at 11.59pm that gives you the "forecast" for the day that is just finishing giving details of the weather for Bristol from the early hours of that morning and how it changes every couple of hours through to midnight followed by the same for the wider region. Only then do you get a 5 day forecast consisting only of maximum and minimum temperatures and an icon (cloud, rain etc.) for each day. Even if you do catch the weather loop early enough that it could be useful the graphics are terrible with unreadable small place names and confusing images.
