Wimbledon on YouView
Now the BBC have announced their streaming plans for Wimbledon this summer, why aren't we seeing any of the extra streams on YouView?
Seems like a lot of investment to create or modify the apps for the many different types of smart TVs out there, but surely with the rate of uptake of YouView this would be a good place to invest those resources - especially as the BBC are a partner. Or is it a case of YV needing multicast capabilities and these won't be switched on by the time Wimbledon kicks off? What is going on here? |

The live streaming capabilities won't become live until later in the summer. Probably the end of July / beginning of August. Though you may get the Freeview streams on channels 301, 302 and 303. Try it and see. |

I get the red button streams on the 300s but the announcement from the BBC said there'll be extra streams on the net including HD.
I know that there is now a red button HD but it just seems a shame that YouView haven't really got stuff like this implemented earlier rather than asking people to watch on their computer or plug the computer into the TV. |

Maybe we will be able to watch some of the live tennis on YouView via the BBCi player.

Darren For example, in my spare room we have a TV, but no signal. Live iPlayer via Xbox, Roku or any other type of "non PC" box would be perfect. |
