Beef
I just can't find a beef fore rib (boned or boneless) in Tesco or Sainsbury's recently, I realise the price has taken a hit, Waitrose has them but very pricey.... They were readily available a couple of years ago.
I suppose I'm answering my own question, but I'm surprised the popular supermarkets have shown the white flag, Silverside & Topside just don't cook well for me. Brisket can be great but it need several hours , maybe I'll get a slow cooker and start it at 3am.

It's a shame isn't. Maybe your best bet is to get to Smithfield Market or try one of the online butchers. There are a few very good ones.

Do you have Morrisons down there?
They do foreribs. Usually one or two bone but you could ask the counter butcher to cut a full one for you. Other than that you might have to order online. Donald Russell always pops up as being popular http://www.donaldrussell.com/meat/be...in-roasts.html |
