Problems with Denon A/V receiver
i have just bought a new Samsung smart TV to replace an older Samsung LED TV. i have a Denon 1912A/V receiver which has a Sky+ box, Panasonic DVD/HDD recorder and an LG HR400 Bluray player /HDD recorder connected to it via HDMI inputs. This was all working well until I installed the new TV, i have connected the Denon to the TV using HDMI 3. When i previously selected the source on my old TV it would automatically connect to whatever was the last selected input source on the A/V amp. Now when the input is selected on the TV the A/V amp shows TV as the input device and it has to be reset to whatever is wanted.
When reading the TV manual, which is crap, it refers to using HDMI 1 for a STB so that it can be controlled from the TV. I have tried using HDMI 1 but the same thing happens. has anyone had this issue or know how to resolve, i would be very grateful for any advice |

Is it CEC (Samsung call it Anynet+) on the new TV doing this, I wonder? Try disabling it. It is more trouble than it is worth.

Glad to hear you got it sorted.
Instead of relying on CEC I use an activity-based universal remote (Harmony 555) to turn on my TV and AV amp etc and switch them to the correct source all with the press of one button. |
