She's in the 'business' of making someone look like an eye candy, mind!

Natalie was the one who got offended by that as she quickly jumped in about how she could have sold "loads" of caravans due to her experience.......in recruitment.

I think Leah was just thinking that her lip job was worth the money after all.

Agreed.

About the only point in the show where her back-arse / snob expression changed an ounce!

She seemed fairly affronted to me - I found those bits really, properly uncomfortable. Might just be me projecting, but I don't think it is.

I think Leah was ready to be offended, but then thought 'nah sod it, best not to acknowledge it'.

It was Natalie that was offended, in a roundabout way she barked at him 'I should have been the one sent as I'm hotter than her'.

Leah tried to look offended at first, but couldn't hide the smile. She actually looked as though she thought of it as a compliment.

Its a tried and tested tecnique. Lots of men are suckers for a pretty face in sales.

I too thought Leah resented it. One for iplayer tomorrow.

I don't think Leah liked it but what was funnier was Natalie's weird attempt to appear not jealous

Pity they didn't have one to send then!

Why would any woman or man be offended by being thought of as eye candy or in other words attractive

Leah knows she intelligent so if others think she's also good looking, that's an added bonus . I'd say she'd be better looking if she hadn't over done the lip filler.

Hard to tell as her normal facial expression is miserable. Natalie however was put out by the fact that Kurt thought Leah was more attractive than her.

Natalie was definitely offended at not being considered as eye candyish as Leah. Speaking as a female I can't blame her. It was pretty insulting, when there was only two girls on the team, to so blatantly go for one over the other as the attractive one.

I couldn't make out whether Leah was annoyed or secretly flattered.

Agreed on all counts.
Typically on a DS forum I reckon she's get some criticism however she acted.

For me, it came as a surprise to her. Shuggsey asked her why she thought she'd been selected and she started saying it was because of her ability at sales before he cut in and stated it was because Kurt regarded her as eye candy. Whether people like it or not, she would attract a lot of men at an exhibition.
I've been to and had to sell at a load of these exhibitions (not caravans I hasten to add!) and even in this day and age people put pretty girls at the 'front of shop' as it were. It's more a sad indictment of men than the woman themselves to be fair.

In the board room she looked like she was going to protest then realised that perhaps it's not actually an insult to be thought of as good looking and let it slide.

For me the far funnier reaction was Natalie's. You could almost feel the indignation coming off her, as if she thought she should be the 'eye candy!'.

Kurt's reaction to being called out on this also was funny!

I am surprised she didn't go down the sexist route a la Zee.

I think she knows her days are numbered so any publicity is good publicity. She could be the face of bodged up lip jobs.

Sorry i forgot the name of the goerdie lad so I'm just going to referring to him as Geordie.

I think Goerdie is right and wrong for many reasons, I think if a woman is shockingly beautiful and is selling to men it can be both and advantage and disadvantage. It really depends on the woman which boils down to her sales skill.

On the one hand if the woman knows how to sell, she can be more personable with males, build up some rapport and the prospect will be much more personable and the sale won't be strictly financial and he will be more emotionally invested in the sale.

OTOH if the woman is clueless about sales - doesn't know what the sale is worth, what the margins are. She can be perceived as a bimbo and eaten for breakfast. The prospect will throw silly numbers around and pretend like they have a budget/they can get it cheaper etc. and drive price down.

Case in point the laudry task from a few seasons back where the girls team tried to charge £5 per sheet for laundry which is about the same as what they were spending to buy bedsheets.

Kurt referring to his female colleague as 'Eye Candy' was more sexist than anything Zee did or said. Ridiculous thing to say, think it all you like, but don't say it.

I can't bear Leah though and I will cheer when she gets fired. And she will be fired.

I thought Leah's little smirk was an odd reaction given she (rightly) gave Zee a hard time for not treating women with enough respect. And then Natalie seemed really put out that she wasn't considered the 'eye candy' of the two!

If they can't be consistent about when they are/aren't offended by sexism then I won't bother taking them seriously.

Well, I think their reactions were pretty telling. They gave Zee a bollocking for being a sexist pig, but they didn't give a bollocking to Kurt. Perhaps the reason for this is that Kurt isn't actually a sexist pig and the "eye candy" comment was nothing more than a slip of the tongue. One sexist comment does not actually make someone sexist.

Even though Zee didn't make ANY sexist comments?

How do you know he didn't? Were you there with him throughout his time on the show? Just because no sexist comments were shown, doesn't mean they didn't happen. And also, you don't have to actually say anything explicitly sexist to be sexist, either. He was pretty dismissive of both Natalie and Leah on that task and happily let Neil and Kurt's (bigger) errors slide in favour of their smaller ones.

A lot more happens on this show than we could possibly be shown. The outburst against Zee obviously came from something.

I actually thought Alex was the most offended by it, as he clearly felt that he could have made a better job of selling the camper vans and having Leah promoted over him as "eye candy" was another kick in the teeth.

It's difficult to tell from the edit, but it seems that Leah was only went there for the final hour.
Surely Kurt must have known earlier that he and Myles as a partnership wasn't working.

Giving Alex and Leah the opportunity for half a day could have paid dividends on 2 counts:
1. They could have sold and won the task
2. They still wouldn't have sold, but Kurt could have spread the blame
