I see that MS are offering 2 free Xbox360 games per month for Gold subscribers. The first one being Fable 3. Freebies are good and welcome. Offer ongoing until 31/12/13. Some games will require Kinect.

A nice surprise for me too, nice to see Microsoft starting to do this, though they are rather slow to IMO as Sony have been giving free games to PS plus subscribers for years. Still better late than never I say, suspect it comes now to maintain decent level of interest in the 360 and encouraging people to keep their gold subscription current before the XBox One arrives.

I expect this to continue beyond the specified end date once they see an improvement to XBL Gold subs. It's good thing really, while at the moment the games that we do know about are quite old it's still a huge step in the right direction. I see a lot of people moaning but I find that obnoxious since this is exactly what people have been asking for and with only needing the one Gold account for both 360 and X1 it's a brilliant feature for everyone concerned. Also worth noting these games are not rentals, you don't need to keep paying MS access them.

fable 3's not even 3 years old so not a bad deal if you're a gold sub already.

I don't - for the reason of the second bold part, unless they continue to be games that are 6 years old like Halo.

Does anyone know what happens when your gold lapses. Mine runs out at the end of the month and am not renewing for now. I have downloaded fable 3 but not sure whether to start it if I don't get time to finish it. Was wondering if it was like ps plus where they only work as long as your a member.

Not too bad for me, I have only played a few hours of fable 2 so I got 3 free now. I stopped Assassins Creed 1 about 1/2 of the way through as it was repetitive and as far to easy. I'll have to pick that up somewhere. But I will do if I am getting 2 free. My last AC achievement was Defender of the people: Damascus on 09/01/2008. As for Halo its on my games played list but no achievements which means I tried multiplayer sometime around Christmas 2007

SIgn out of you profile, sign in as somebody else (not a gold account obviously) and see if it works. Should do.

If you want one I've got a few 24 & 48 hour gold trial things. Be glad to send you a code if you want to download them next month.

Thanks for the offer. It's only fable I was interested in as have the others. Hopefully wont need to have gold to play it. Can't justify paying to renew at the moment as it has been so long since played a multiplayer game.

I don't want to sound ungrateful but why can't we choose the games ourselves ? i'm not interested in what they will offer because i will either already have them, or they will just be A list games. Games like Forza and Gears of War, i'm not interested in those type of games.

Seems a cynical ploy by M$...hey, guys look at us we are giving away FREE game(s) (just when we are a) pushing the XBOne and b) pushing no resells, DRM and trying to get digital downloads off the ground. (YES, I know yhey have had to kill DRM etc at the moment).

It would have been better if they had been offering free games for years.

Spot on, im not buying into their cheap marketing. All these years we've had nothing free from them but as soon as they saw the hate after the `reveal` its like they went oh here some free games..... shut up.

Too late for me as im switching to ps4

Halo 3 is out for download, not sure if anyone has had experience of playing this. If not get it downloaded as itís so good.

If you have still get on it as the increase in people playing this will be greatly improved and it will probably remind you when Halo was good.
