Couldn't find a thread for US-Pace for this, although there is a thread already which contains lots of book spoilers so I thought I'd make a new one..

Zero Spoilers please from people who've read the book

Kicks off on Monday 24th June

This is US pace so it's been shown on CBS in the states, but i'll be watching it by other means since I live in Ireland, Channel 5 have the uk rights to it though

I see they are calling it a Miniseries, there was talk about it being an ongoing series when it was first announced.

Better as a Miniseries though, 10 (is it?) episodes is enough to tell the story.

Recently they've been talking about it coming back for a second season. Obviously this will depend on ratings but it seems they have no plans to wrap up the events of the book in just 13 episodes.

I will be watching this too, although it was one of the very few King novels that I couldn't really get into, and so never finished it.

I always like shows with intriguing concepts like this, so I'll be tuning in for sure. I'm actually halfway through the book. Seems pretty good. Probably not vintage Stephen King though.

I agree.

Though, I think Stephen King would like it to be a fully-fledged series based on some of his comments. I guess it depends on the ratings. I really hope it's a good show and not another over-hyped sci-fi flop.

5 Days.....

Also, the show has been sold to over 200 territories......Huge profit already,
so I'm gonna make a guess and say it'll have to tank pretty hard to not get a 2nd season.

Rumors of it just being a mini-series are false because

Spoiler

^^^Not a spoiler unless you do not wish to know the name of an actress who has been cast to appear from episode 9 onwards....also, its possibly a spoiler for THE FOLLOWING

Not really a rumour when the show's own trailer states it's a Miniseries.

Then again I believe US TV (or the Emmys at least) consider Downton Abbey to be a Miniseries so it seems you can have multi season miniseries'.

I see Rachelle Lefevre is in it. That's enough for me, let alone the idea of a force field covering a town.

It took me years to figure out where i had seen her before, only to realize she was on Big Wolf on Campus. She is hot.

As for the show, i'm looking forward to it. Might as well suspend my order for the book.

Nah, it was Stephen King who did it....when he wrote the first Under the Dome draft back in the 70's
