WOW!!!!

"The season premiere of UNDER THE DOME on CBS brought in a massive 13.1 million viewers and a 3.2 adults rating in the 18-49 demo, making it CBS' biggest premiere since 2 Broke Girls"

I bet CBS are regretting airing this in the summer now

Fantastic

I might check this out for Britt Robertson, I was crushed when her last show "The Secret Circle" got canned after one season on an epic cliffhanger.

Pretty good first episode.

I was a little confused when it was revealed Angie and Joe were sister and brother as IMDB has them listed with different surnames (he's McClatchey she's McAlister) but it seems IMDB is wrong and they're both McAlisters on the show according to the official website.

I thought it was good - More drama than mysterious happenings around town but i can deal with that considering the dome is the main player.

I'll keep watching.

That would be a logical thing to try, and I am sure they will find that is futile. I bet what looks like a "dome" on the earth's surface is actually a sphere, with the other half of the sphere simply being underground.

I think it's the fact that it's aired in the summer that has resulted in these ratings, the lack of competition will have helped it. While i'm sure it would have done decently airing within a regular TV season, i think it might have struggled against stronger competition. During the summer it's just going up against repeats.

As for the show, i liked it, it had a Jericho-ish feel to it. I like the premise, and being a Stephen King fan i'm sure i'll enjoy it (although i haven't read the book yet). Hopefully the ratings hold up next week.

It was OK. I'll tune in to the next to see where it goes.

I hope people who have the read the book have the good grace to spoiler anything that may or may not happen in the future of the show.

I liked the shout out to The Prisoner.

If it happened here, methinks by the morning the whole lower level of the dome would be covered with spray painted penises.

Watched it last night, thought it was a good strong start, looking forward to seeing how close to the book it goes, and glad the viewing figures are high, this might persuade the tv execs to go with a Dark Tower series which is the Stephen King books that for me would be fantastic on the small or big screen, if done properly.

I hope this persuades CBS to greenlight more serialised sci-fi shows in the coming years. Out of all the US networks, they have the best chance of making a success of a sci-fi show I think.

CBS should dip their toes in the water further for when the new Trek movies wrap.

Yes, but networks air alot or originals/imports in the summer that bomb too...
Remember Harpers Island? that was a summer show and it bombed...

To put it into perspective, UNDER THE DOME was the highest rated summer launch since 1992 :O
CBS said so in their press release, but i'm not sure if that means demo wise, or viewer wise

Book sitting on shelf for a long time.

Do I or don't I read it ?

Now or after?

I get impatient with the days between episodes

I'd say hold off reading the book and avoid any "but in the book wah wah wah" posts which will no doubt follow every ep.

But in the book.......

Tbh, I enjoyed it, and hope they do change it massively from the book, mainly coz I found that a bit silly. I've never understood people crying about stuff not being the same as the source material, do you just want to know everything that's going to happen?

Could be a decent long-runner, with nice conflicts.

Oh, and is it just me that thinks the Female Police officer has ridden in from Eureka?

Yes the ex-CSINY cop DOES look like Erica Cerra.

Is it too much to ask for Homer Simpson to make a cameo appearance in this show?

There is actually going to be a Simpsons Movie reference in one of the early episodes
