I can't be bothered correcting this. Just want to say that if it was a dig at proper system control and those who see the value of it then you're so so very wrong, and I'm not referring to the silly comment about picture quality.

silly comment about picture quality?

Not sure if you're referring to my post, if you were then I'm afraid you're mistaken.

Oh for the love of God .... Is your forum name blueisthecolour? Was it your post that I specifically quoted and addressed in my original reply? The answer to both those questions is No.

FFS it's not enough that we have idiotic comments. Now we have other FMs itching to be offended because they can't read posts properly.

Might I suggest you read the post you quoted again?

blueisthecolour was taking the mick out of those "snake oil" components such as hugely expensive HDMI and mains leads that make all sorts of spurious claims about how they magically improve the viewing experience.

I very much doubt he was making a dig at legitimate kit that DOES do what it says on the tin.

I stand by my original post. I'm well aware of the HDMI cable bashing. But that's not what I was addressing.

If you actually read what I quoted you'll see that it was to specifically address a rather fatuous comment about system remotes. blueisthecolour's intent was clear. It was to tar all things "expensive" with the same 'snake oil' brush. IMO that is just plain ignorant and it does the forum a disservice. If you disagree, and if you think that it's okay for people to mock things just because they don't understand them, then that's your prerogative. Personally I'd rather folk just stay quiet about things on which they are uneducated. I say uneducated based on the fact that if blueisthecolour knew what he was talking about then he wouldn't have made such a stupid comment in the first place.

Seems to be very heated in here. Don't know why people get so over sensitive...
I'm not sure now if someone is actually advocating paying stupid money for something or not.......??
Goodness knows how the OP is feeling!!!?
