Azhar's video has already been trumped. Have you forgotten:

'Some fizz on your big day?'
[takes a swig] 'Ugh! It's horrible! This isn't the English sparkling wine I ordered!

I don't know what the welsh guy is up to in the ad but he looks disturbing. Should be entertaining.

Well, I disagree, but it's a matter of opinion I suppose.

I think what I loved about the English sparkling wine one was they had a great bit of editing. We saw Ricky and Gabrielle talking very professionally without being cut at all for about two minutes, and it all looked really good... then the advert came on! The comparisons of the faces of the execs before and after was one of my all-time favourite moments on The Apprentice.

It showed, as is often the case in the advertising tasks, the complete failure to apply common sense. The candidates, like all of us, have seen hundreds of thousands of print, television and online adverts, but rarely use this knowledge of what a typical wine commercial looks like (or whatever is being advertised that week).

Next week they are advertising something to do with dating, a sector which generally eschews humour, the hard sell, or calling its customers pathetic losers. Apprentice candidates, on the other hand, like cheap puns and slapstick.

As I said in another thread, this year I have the impression that candidates have studied previous series and are better aware of the correct strategies for various tasks, so I remain optimistic. My prediction is that Leah, in particular, will shine, based on her experience in her current business.

Francesca (the dance entrepreneur) should do well too, on the production side, but may suffer from the Apprentice curse of the expert: concentrating on their area of expertise but losing sight of the larger business picture. As Churchill said, experts should be on tap, not on top.

It will be the cringiest episode of the year - so it depends whether you look through your hands while watching the cringe.

Do they have to pitch their products in front of 'experts'? Thats always the worst, when the morons have to answer questions.

The best (worst) ad was the "1970s porno" ad for Shugs' aeroplane concierge service card.

His reaction was priceless.
