Flipping heck must he keep harping on about this. There's people who say he was misquoted...not in several magazines.

No 1 albums, No 1 airplay, No 1 singles
US Success

How much success does his little egotistical head want!

Olly can be hit and miss! PJ was a good moment. this was not!

I don't mind Olly - but if it wasn't for X Factor he wouldn't have any success so it's an odd point he's trying to make.

His music is inoffensive disposable pop, there's no substance. He's a nice enough guy but there's no real longevity there.

He should be careful, didn't Matt Cardle allienate many people in his quest for credibility?
This kind of quotes annoys non fans, and he seems to be moaning despite his incredible success wich might end up annoying his fans as well.

What does he mean by recognition? He has has three successful albums with a string of hit singles from each, and that's no easy feat for somebody who has come from The X Factor. Now he's starting to have success in America so everything is going well for him. Surely the only recognition he needs and that should matter is that people are enjoying and buying his music. They obviously are so he should just be thankful.

To be honest it's his own fault anyway. If he wants more recognition and blames The X Factor for his lack of it, why did he agree to be a presenter for two years on the Xtra Factor? I can understand why he went on the show, he wanted a way into the music industry but he could have distanced himself from the show by now, I mean just because he was on it doesn't mean he always should be associated with it but going back as a presenter ensured he would always be associated with it.

If anyone should be moaning about this it's Leona. Although she wouldn't because she's not a dick.

Wearing tight trousers?

- His 'music' has absolutely no originality.

I think she had plenty recognition just decided to squander it with bad management a crap label and an unwillngness to promote. In fairness to Olly he works hard has decent enough music but he will never get the credibility he craves with the amterial he releases.

Maybe he should have a chat with Joe McElderry and be grateful for what he has. I am sure Joe would have loved his success And, yes Joe fans I know Joe is doing ok releasing the music he wants (apparently) but it is not the same level of Olly success!

But what I mean is that as her music improved her recognition decreased. Although the things you mentioned do factor obviously and she shouldn't have delayed her third album for a year. But while Spirit is overrated, Glassheart is criminally underrated.

I see what you mean but she at least had the recognition there. Olly never has and is probably more successful than her.

I don't think any of her albums are rated highly. Do you just mean overrated/underrated purely in sales terms?

Well I think you're all wrong and you're just fed recycled quotes that are taken out of context, because they have been. Olly found the criticism hard to take when he released his first couple of albums and I don't blame him. He's never been the most confident person and it's only now that he's gaining it - his O2 show on his recent tour was the best I've ever seen of his, he even played piano and acoustic guitar on a few songs. He's never been ungrateful about what the show's given him it's just these snotty nosed 'muso' types who dictate what's 'cool' and 'credible' he's had to suffer the brunt of. Any normal person would find it annoying especially when they'e worked as hard as Olly has.

I know having met him that he is amazing to his fans and is passionate about making albums and touring - which is so far removed from all these recycled quotes about him. His fanbase is growing all the time and he has such a wide appeal that extends beyond the typical for a pop artist. And I can't wait to see you all proved wrong when he's still around in five years from now.

What sort of recognition is he after then? if it's for his contribution to the music world he needs to gain some humility, he's only been around as long as a bad virus, multi awards and honours from the Queen come a bit further down the line love.
Enjoy the success your fans are giving you and shut up.

He is so right and definitely deserves much more respect in the industry. He is the UK's premier male solo artist after all.

Yes. Although I believe Spirit got better reviews... The reviews for Glassheart were very biased.

I'm so bored of him going on about wanting more recognition!

I remember his Dad was ranting on twitter earlier this year when he didn't win a Brit. He is really doing my head in now. I've seen a few interviews where he really blows his own trumpet.

he makes very generic paint by numbers songs. no originality. made for radio pop songs. he has credibility issues too cause he wasn't good enough to get a record deal on his own, he had to use a reality tv show.

My missus loves his music. Which is all I need to know (she's without question the love of my life but she has dreadful taste when it comes to 'music')

PS all IMO obviously.

I read an interview from him today where he commented on Beyonce getting groped while she was performing. These were his words:

"She should get over it. Try being me. Every gig I do I get groped."
I understand he was probably joking but it just comes across as foolish.

What does he want more recognition for? He's already had a few hit singles and a couple of albums. I'm not a fan but he's certainly not been flopping. He seems to be popular enough. I used to see his videos on the music channels all the time.

Not reading the link but I will take any chance to say what an odious pillock I think Olly Murs is. Still can't believe he's become so successful even after his atrocious "Dad dancing" on the X-Factor. The cheeky chappy stuff is very wearing too.

Ugh, you can't turn the radio on without having one or another of his songs assaulting your ears He is popular, but not credible, and his continual moaning about how people should give him more recognition is going to fix that fact in cement. Idiot

He has a team of writers around him who certainly know how to pen a radio friendly ditty. He says he wrote them, well, where were they for the 27 years he was in obscurity? He got to where he is by exposure on X factor, and getting supported by the pop music industry generally. He should be bloody grateful for that and shut up!
