Ahhhh how cute. Greyhounds are the first low maintenance dogs we have had - I dont think I would have anything else now.

One of our dogs can be having a mad 5 mins, only to fall asleep halfway through!! After an hour or so of snoozing she comes round and continues. Funny girl.

If ever I was in a position to have a dog, I'd go for a greyhound. My elderly neighbour has one (a rescue) and she is beautiful: so gentle and well-mannered.

whippets and greyhounds are my favourite dogs great natured ...good with kids..... good companion dogs they do like comfort so they will lie happily next to the fire in a cosy pet bed or by your side on the sofa ....they don't shed much hair or need as much exercise as you would think... although they do need a good run and walk... very loving quiet loyal dogs who are great actors and will soon have you wrapped around their little paws

I can confirm they are incredibly lazy at home as we have two. However, one was a terrible chewer from a puppy, beds, furniture, the lot - though not now - so just because they're lazy it doesn't mean they don't get into mischief. An older rehomed one would be a good idea as, hopefully, they would be out of their chewy puppy ways. Also be careful of the mix as we have a saluki/whippet cross and she has been a bugger to train - think it's the saluki part - although she is now turning into a lovely dog. Our other one is a greyhound/deerhound - a gentle giant and much more laid back but he was the chewer! I do love them both very much though, wouldn't be without them and they are very much people dogs.

Oh, and by the way, I originally wanted a spaniel too but ended up with a huge lurcher instead!

Our lurchers shed quite a bit but probably as their mixes have given them rough coats.

... if you think that's impressive ... every piece of the three piece suite, two chair legs, five beds, blu ray player, remote control, wallpaper, carpet and anything else the thieving little s*d could get his jaws on, including my new glasses! (Though not all in three hours) He still swipes tissues out of my pocket as he's going past which he thinks is highly amusing and we having nothing lying around below waist level. But I love him dearly and it's part of his character.

I think I'm going to keep him confined to his crate permanently

Yesterday's treat was the destruction of a foam ball (the neighbours, not ours!) all over the garden....

I'm glad our Archie is over all that now, although a foam ball does sound tasty ...

... when I say "over all that now" it might be a bit of wishful thinking. He started to chew his quilt yesterday but I think it was a protest at not having been fed yet ... attention-seeking so and so!
