I think I want to switch some groups of channels, and perhaps all of them, to the Hannington transmitter rather than having channels received from I think the Isle of Wight, which is what happens on auto tune.

I believe I successfully did this previously for most of the BBC channels, but I'm now having trouble remembering how, and with others - ITV, Ch5, Ch 4+1 I think are the main culprits.

My question: is there a way to see which frequency/channel a particular station is currently tuned to - and therefore which transmitter? I can't find one.

And, if I just scan for say Ch42, am I right in thinking it will just add any stations found on that channel rather than replacing what I already have in memory - so I'll end up with duplicate stations from different transmitters?

So how do I swap em over?

Menu->System->Signal Detection will tell you the UHF channel and frequency of the currently selected Freeview channel.

Before doing a Manual tune, it's better to delete all the channels first.

Menu->Edit Channels->Edit Channel Lists then Select All and Delete. (You might have to do this separately for TV and Radio.)

You'll probably be prompted to do a retune.

I would follow the manual tune instructions given by Big-les in the previous post.

However, to answer your questions.
If you scan on one channel it will add rather than replace. BUT if you have already auto scanned then it is likely the channel you are manually tuning is already stored - in which case the stations in memory will be replaced. But it is more complicated because the stations may already be stored as duplicates... urgh!

As far as I know you can't swap channels over, you can create a favourites list but I don't think you can renumber the stations.

If you are thinking of mixing and matching stations from two different transmitters - the best advice is - DON'T (unless you really know what you are doing and are happy with the consequences to recording and accurate recording).

For best results - clear all the channels stored. Pick one transmitter. Find the channels it uses. Use Big-les's manual tune instructions. If that doesn't give the required result, clear the channels again, pick the other transmitter, find the channels and do another manual scan.

Did indeed delete all stations and then do manual scan for all the channels from t'other transmitter.

Just to clarify - for further info should it be needed.
I think the reply I gave only applies to BBCA & D3&4 SD muxes (ie. BBC1,2,3,4,News,Parliament, ITV,C4,C5,More4 +...) because these are localised (BBC1 & ITV) for the news.
I have a feeling that other muxes might replace the stations - for example BBC1 from transmitter B won't replace BBC1 from transmitter A but will appear in the 800s. However Sky News from transmitter B might replace Sky News from transmitter A on 82. Confused? I think I am!

That's why I think doing a complete Manual Search is by far the easiest route for most people. The more interested people will experiment.
