Comparison between Jason and Natalie...

One thing I'm just interested in... Jason has had some very positive comments about him from certain people on these forums, whereas Natalie has had some extremely negative ones. I'm just wondering why?

I can see why people don't like Natalie - I personally don't agree, but I can see the logic that we haven't really seen her come to the front in the seven tasks. However, I think she is better than Jason, who performed very well in the latest task but has completely messed up on the others. I think comparing the two, I would rather work with Natalie than Jason; and even if people disagree and think that Jason generally outshines Natalie, you have to admit that he doesn't outshine her very much.

What has Jason done that means that he gets such a positive reception on these forums, whereas Natalie gets such a negative one?

EDIT: And just a note, I believe that a lot of the positivity for Jason came before the latest task, so it can't be all on that.

Jason is eccentric. Britain seems to have a soft spot for eccentrics.

Simple. Jason is a nice guy. Natalie is an awful woman.

If Jason messes up and he gets told, he takes it on the chin.

If Natalie messes up and gets told, it's the whole world and his wife's fault. She thinks she is flawless but she is totally the opposite.

I feel sorry for you wanting to work with Natalie over Jason. Can you just imagine the carnage when it all goes wrong, all those crocodile tears and all that shouting and carrying on like some wild banshee.

But to each their own. Everyone has a different view on things and I am sure a lot of people won't agree with me, but it's all good.

Leaving aside the latest task:

Neither of them have performed well throughout the series. Neither of them have shown any real flair for business or ability to sell/pitch/create/manage (you know, all those things that you'd generally expect from a business partner ).

I wouldn't particularly want either of them in a workforce that relied on competence and efficiency.

However, Jason comes across as polite and charming. I don't think there's a single person on here that thinks he'll come within a rat's fart of winning but he's likeable.

Natalie, on the other hand, is one of the classic Apprentice "achieves sweet fa and then blames everyone else for it" candidates. The candidate that fades into the background on virtually every task then claims 20/20 hindsight in the boardroom. And screams like a fishwife while doing it. Not attractive.

No one really knows what Jason is good at but...

He managed to sell a £10k plus caravan and has provided comedy gold on numerous occasions. He's certainly got a strong personality despite being a bungling boris type.

Apart from crying constantly, I can't remember a single thing that Natalie did and she certainly didn't sell anything nearly as expensive. Based on the TV edit she was incompetent and completely forgettable.

As much as anything else, Jason has been the target of aggression (from Alex, Zeeshaan, and to a lesser extent Neil) and Natalie has been an aggressor (against Rebecca, Uzma and Zeeshaan).

People are always more ready to sympathise with the former than the latter, even if in some cases the frustration is justified.

Lol, speaking loudly in the boardroom gets you all sort of titles these days

Saddam or Adolf were aggressors, don't think that Natalie can match up with them (even in her high heels)

Lol at the Godwins.

It's not a matter of speaking loudly. Natalie's boardroom tactics have always been to get the first punch in and to bring the fight to people. She started on Zeeshaan from the second he didn't hold the door open long enough. At least Melissa Cohen waited until everyone was sat down.

Exactly that, Natalie may have performed better on some tasks, but seems to be a nasty person

Most of the men aside from Alex, Zee and Neil are very calm this year, Myles and Jordan are also calm and don't get agressive. So were Kurt and Tim

A lot of interesting thoughts here. I was just curious...

I felt like Natalie used all her tricks only when she was in the boardroom between the sword and the wall.

I think it comes down to that Jason is likeable whereas Natalie isn't. Someone said before that he has the 'Boris Johnson' factor and that's exactly it.

They're probably both as incompetent as each other, but Jason is liked by a lot of people on here because he's funny and essentially a nice guy - most of the girls have said that they really like him and get on well with him.

We haven't seen Jason in a final 3 BR yet to compare him like for like with Natalie, but when we do, I'd think he'd be quite similar to Rebecca and be quite dignified and unwilling to get into a slanging match, whereas you can't say the same for Natalie at all.

Are we watching the same show? Jordan is not calm at all. He acts like a right thug when his team wins. Honestly, anyone would think he was someone in a pub instead of a boardroom!

Luisa hell yes. Natalie no. Have you seen that massive schnozzer and all those warts she has on her face seen on one of the close ups. Hell no. Karren and her three chins over Natalie anyday!

I'd say that Jason is more competent than the edit lets on. In the Dubai task there were a lot of little details, mostly subtle, of Jason working really well. He was probably the best performer on that task. For all the time she was on the show I just didn't see anything positive from Natalie. There may have been something in the first couple of tasks but memory fails me.

This.

Jason's certainly not the most competent but at least he's contributed very positively to a task - selling the caravan etc. I also think you're right about Dubai. Plus, he's far more likable.

All I can remember Natalie doing was her disastrous project management of the tidy sidy and complaining about Zee's sexism (albeit with some justification). She was absolutely f**king useless.

To be fair it's generally easier to come across as calm when you have mostly won tasks. Some of the men are still untested as to what they'll be like in the boardroom - which reflects well on them, in that they've been on winning teams, which is the point of the game. But there are still a few men who I don't think we've really seen what they'll be like under pressure, who certainly haven't been in the boardroom for the third time and knowing they're likely to go. So a comparison of Natalie with Jason, Neil, Miles and Jordan is a bit harsh just in that they haven't really been in the same position yet.

Having said that, I'm one of the people who love Jason. (I feel like I'm tempting fate by saying that and he may immediately turn into an arse in the next show.) He is bumbling but I'm fascinated by what on earth he's doing on the show and what his business might be. Jason is different from the usual candidate in his whole approach, he's so far sweet and charming imo, and he's made it a much more interesting series because the others show a lot of what they're like in the way they treat him. Natalie came across to me (and it's an edit and I wouldn't claim to know what any of them are really like) as a very typical Apprentice candidate. I didn't particularly dislike her but I'll be surprised if I remember her for long, to be honest. Whereas I think I will remember Jason out of everyone this year, even if he goes soon.

I meant on the tasks, as yes Jordan does do bizarre celebrations when his team wins

To be fair after the farm shop task Jason and Myles also celebrated, but they were calmer in doing so and weren't told off
