So i have never seen Series 6-8 again since they first aired and despite being the 3 most recent series (aside from this one obviously) they are the 3 i remember the least about as i really lost interest in the show during these 3 series for whatever reason. I have decided to rewatch them on youtube.

I have just watched Episodes 1-10 of Series 6. It was almost like watching it for the first time, i remembered little about it. I have got into it slightly more second time around i think, however i am not sure i would ever watch it a 3rd time, i honestly think some of the candidates and things that happen are some of the most annoying stuff in any Apprentice series. Infact having finished ep 10 i am not going to even bother with the final 2 episodes i am skipping to Series 7. Why? Because that Baggs moron has to be one of the worst, most dislikeable, ,most annoying, most arrogant and delusional candidates ever and what does Sugar do? He fires Liz instead! Thats the final nail in Series 6 coffin.

Other stuff to mention. That guy Dan who went in episode one - easily the most satisfying Ep 1 firing ever. Paloma was vile, Alex was annoying

They say ''you know'' about 5 times in every sentence. it is seriously annoying

There are some good moments but honestly i am not overly impressed and Series 6 remains low ranking for me.

well i will post again after i finish Series 7

I'm one of the very, very few who didn't mind Liz getting fired over Stuart. As far as I could remember she was completely over-hyped from making a few brilliant sales and was a mediocre performer elsewhere. She probably did deserve to stay over him though.

I liked Alex Epstein though, he was evidently useless but I liked watching his annoying effusiveness.

Liz always came across as quietly competent - mediocre is maybe a bit harsh - but I do agree that she was rated far too highly on the basis of obtaining a then-record order from Kiddicare - it was for the Baby Glow, wasn't it? All credit to her, she make a very professional pitch, but there was also an element of her having the perfect product for the perfect retailer, which made it a comparatively easy sell. It's much easier to sell a beer to an alcoholic in a pub than it is to a teetotaller during church ...

I hope you enjoy Series 7! That was my favourite adult series, although one of the series of Young Apprentice tops that in my opinion.

From my memory i enjoyed it more than 6 or 8. But i'm afraid all 3 of these series didn't do much for me compared to 1-5 & 9. Well i'll see how i feel on second viewing anyway

Not been re-watching them, but I have been visiting them through re-reading Monkseal's amazing blog.

The OP should watch the interview stage at least. Its worth it to see Baggs the brand come undone and then get torn a new one.
Not to mention Jamie proving he's a vacuous idiot.

http://monkseal.wordpress.com/

Go to categories on the right hand side of the page and scroll down to The Apprentice. There are blogs from every series of The Apprentice from the third series onwards (Including Young Apprentice). Just choose which series to read.

And then say goodbye to your life for the next few weeks as you gradually read everything on the site, whether you watch the show or not...........

Plus, you'll inevitably return to the site and reread stuff again and again (I know I do - the Strictly recaps and memes contained within them are hilarious). The Apprentbitch (and associated blogs) are also worth a read - Steven who authors some of those blogs regularly comments/co-writes on Monkseal's site (he does some of the American Idol and The Voice posts).

Plus, they both reply to you on twitter! Top guys, the pair of them!

Same goes for Stella really, who made her name solely on being able to control the boys team (parading in a bikini no less).

Not fair. She made her name with an outstanding record and positive contributions in virtually every task up until the Scavenger Hunt task. I think she gets far too much stick on these forums.

I think its out of protest because Karren has an extra R in her name so he removes them altogether.

EDIT: Yeah, from this blog from the Series 5 interviews episode (http://monkseal.wordpress.com/2009/0...-interviews/):

Oh no wait, that’s Karren Brady. Maybe dress like a professional in future Karrrrren. Actually, as these are “troubled times” and Karren is flagrantly burning up valuable resources by using twice her natural allowance of “R”s, she will be referred to as Kaen for the rest of the recap. Don’t say I never offset anything.
And also from the first episode of Young Apprentice (http://monkseal.wordpress.com/2010/0...ice-episode-1/)

Kaen Brady (yes, this blog is continuing to offset the surplus Rs she pumps into the atmosphere with every waking moment. Because we care.)

Maybe she does, and I admit to not liking Stella at all, but objectively I don't think that she was that brilliant a PM in the second task. She put her foot down about modelling, and then didn't stick to her decision and gave in in the end. Also, she initially said that she was going to have Jamie doing the pitch and not Chris - we didn't see what happened after that, but in the footage of the pitches, Chris was doing it and I think Jamie would have done better - what happened to Stella's decision? And the product that they created was mediocre at best, they only won because the Book-Eeze was dire. She did a better job managing the boys than Dan the previous week, but I don't think that her management was that fantastic actually.

One thing though, why do they always spell Karren as Kaen? Don't get that i'm afraid
I don't understand that either. I'm sure it's a reference to the two Rs in her name, but I don't find that joke hugely funny. Which is a shame, because I do like Monkseal's humour. I think his weakness is that he tries to make a joke out of EVERYTHING - like the Rs in Karren's name - which means that some jokes fall flat.

I actually have to force myself to remember to add the Rs for polite company now. I'm too far gone to stop.

Nothing will ever be as bad as forcing myself to call the Harrys from YA2 "Harry 1" and "Harry 2" for no reason at all, when it wasn't funny, for the entire series, even though nobody could possibly care and it made the recaps even more confusing than they already were, when I struggled to keep track of which was which every time I wrote it. I have no idea why I did that other than as a form of self-harm.

As I said, Monkseal - I think your humour is great, but sometimes you try so much to make everything a joke that it just gets a bit confusing to read. Kaen and Harry 1 and Harry 2 being obvious examples, but there are a few other things. Like sometimes you refer to people in strange ways - on the last series of Young Apprentice you used Lucy's surname every time you referred to her - you kept mentioning Lucy Beauvallet - and didn't do that with the others. I didn't understand why. The same with Debra a few years ago - you always called her Debrabarr, all as one word. On the other hand, sometimes it really works - continuing to refer to Team Odyssey as Team Wetsuit/Kimono really made me laugh.

Sorry to slate you, I do enjoy reading your stuff, honest!

LOL, hardly a slating. I'm sure everybody's got bits they don't find funny. I'm sure for many people it's "all of it".

A lot of bloggers tend to that every series, such as Apprent-bitch. I think some candidates are often distinguished by their surnames and that's why, but I'm just speculating.

Feel free to contradict me, Monkseal!

Can I just say one more thing that annoys me about your blog sometimes? I'll shut up about it after this because I really do like it, but there is just one thing that gets on my wick a bit...

I think that just occasionally, you downgrade people's genuine achievements to be able to say something funny on the blog. The one example that really got to me is when you suggested that Sean Spooner had had a poem published in Bunty, as his subtitle was 'Award-Winning Publisher'. I think that for someone like Sean, who has had the honour of being named the world's youngest publisher, that comment wasn't really called for. I know it's all for the sake of humour and the difference between making a really good point that simultaneously makes people laugh, and actually saying something that isn't true or fair on the subject is a very, very grey area; I just think that you crossed the line there, and possibly have on a few other occasions as well.

That's all I'll say. I've aired every criticism, the rest of it I think is awesome!

Monkseal's definitely the gold standard the rest of us Apprentice bloggers aspire to, for sure. With any writer, if they can make me laugh or go "I didn't know that", I can forgive any personal quibbles (and with Monky they are few and far between for me). Great humour and encyclopaedic knowledge of the show's history too.

At the risk of alienating people with a bit of self-promotion, I also blog the Apprentice weekly over on slouchingtowardstv.com. (Constructive criticism welcome!) I'm nowhere near as funny as Monkseal, but I try to combine a bit more business analysis in my recaps seeing as that's my background.

Has anyone seen Mike Clayton's blogs? He's a business author and speaker who blogged about each episode of The Apprentice from Series 7 to the second episode of Young Apprentice Series 3. After that he stopped with no explanation, but later wrote an article explaining that he stopped because the editing became more focussed on silly blunders, and he clearly wasn't the target audience anymore. It's a shame that he stopped, because he wrote some really good stuff. It's not as humorous as someone like Monkseal, but it does focus particularly on the real business analysis. It's well worth a read:

I'm now on Episode 10 of Series 7 and an interesting thing has happened. Melody is project manager and halfway thru the task Helen has attempted to take over as project manager. Made me think of Luisa and Jason. But unlike Jason Melody refused this suggestion

Is that quite right? Blunders have always been shown. It is the shouting abuse at each other we see more of, at the expense both of minor task aspects -- designing and printing promotional leaflets, for instance -- and of proper analysis in the boardroom.

Clayton makes the comparison with Masterchef, which celebrates excellence in complex food preparation. I agree, and think most viewers prefer to see things done well. The producers apparently take the view that people like us will watch anyway, so they play up the drama to attract undiscerning viewers.
