Having major problems with this.

My YouView box detects that it's on BT, and points me to bt.com/player
When I try to sign up here though it tries to sell me a Vision+ box, along with a 12 month contract, despite the website suggesting otherwise.

I also tried calling BT, but after being passed around, they claim they can't do it on their end, and it has to be done online.

Has anyone had any success?

I signed up without problems online. But then that was 9 months ago.

There have been a few reports recently of problems. However BT have promised that retail box owners will be able to sign up for packages including BT Sport shortly so would guess you'll be able to go that route if you are prepared to wait a bit longer...

Ah right thanks. At least I know it can be done then.

Got someone looking into on email now, so hopefully they'll sort it out.
