Was watching the programme in bed then this racism thing started. I'm so agitated I had to get up.
How is saying what type you go for racist? I expected BB to take Gina aside and ask her to calm down with the silly accusations, but no, they took wotsername in and gave her a final warning or she's booted.

I am fuming. Making a cuppa tea and a BACON sandwich. I hope nobody takes offence but I love bacon. And blonde guys, and a few Asians.

Furk me! I'm heading to Ofcom. The TV is creating racism.

I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take this anymore...

That is wrong so if a man is not attracted to another man ( as not gay) he has to be a homophobe

Big Brother 2013: Jemima issued with formal warning after Gina row
Big Brother was right to warn her. Maybe it is a personal preference. That's alright. I just don't think it's right to say things like I don't like black men or I don't like white men. First of all, there's no need and second of all, it seems incredibly ridiculous to have such a preference. What does it even mean? If I said I didn't like white men, what does that entail? I'm not attracted to their skin tone? I believe they all inhibit certain attributes that I don't like? What?

Personally don't think saying 'I don't like black men' is the same as saying I like 'muscly men' or something. It has a very uncomfortable racist undertone. Especially since we are dealing with a society that already beautifies whiteness and has a history of devaluing darker skin. If nothing else, it's an irresponsible thing to say.

She didn't have to say anything. She could have said that she prefers Mediteranean guys. She didn't have to qualify it but saying that she doesn't like black guys.

You have an agenda young lady. It is not very nice. You are accusing her of racism which is a very low thing to say. Using the race card is shameful.

She was not in the least racist, just stating a preference. Gina needs to get over herself.

So if somebosy was to ask her if she was physically attracted to black men should she lie?

I'm pretty sure she didn't, because when Gina accused her of saying it, she said she never said it, and again clarified what she had said. She likes dark skinned guys, but more mediterranean than black.

I'm not black but am Welsh and while I wouldn't be happy if someone said they are not attracted to Welsh men I wouldn't think it racist.

I wouldn't say they were being racist but I would find it offensive!

I thought Gina dealt with it very well in trying to deal with it between them.

I agree with the OP. Why does she even need to say she doesn't like black guys. I would feel very weird if someone was saying they wouldn't date a person of my race. I don't think it's racism but it's not a nice thing to hear.

She was asked what type of men she would go for... and she answered honestly. People are attracted to different things/traits and maybe in her 41 years she has just realised that black men do nothing for her possibly like people with beards, people with long hair, people who are shorter than her, etc. Skin colour is a physical characteristic, no, it's not optional, but it is still a part of a person's physical appearance. To suggest racism is ridiculous.

I think her comment to Gina about not dating white men was her trying to just say "If you didn't date white men nobody would say a thing" but it went down wrong. Gina crossed the line in that argument by bringing up family. She was also being ageist, but I don't see anyone pointing fingers at her.

It is your right to take offence, but there is a difference between someone giving offence and someone taking it.

The reality is, I remember a woman from Public Enemy saying that black people should stop shooting each other and shoot some white people instead. It didn't bother me because I've never suffered racism in the way that that woman has almost certainly done. I excused her exceptionally crass comment on those grounds.

Equally, if a black woman said she doesn't find white men attractive, I would not be in the least offended. But, I can understand a black woman finding what Jemima said offensive. But, it was not racist and part of the problem in the maintaing of racism is the taking of offence when none was intended.

She didn't really do that though did she ? she first bitched to everyone else and started saying she thinks she has witnessed someone being racist.

If what she said is worthy of a formal warning, should we award one to Wolfy and Dan for being sexist and not fancying members of the opposite sex?

I'm as left wing and defensive of so called "PC" language as one can be, but there was a context to what Jemima said- something both Gina and Big Brother totally missed.

She wasn't saying she disliked black men, she said she didn't find them attractive- that's entirely different.

I agree with OP.

As I am a black viewer I am offended.

She deliberately singled out black men, because Gina was in the room.

Jemima said in the morning she was gona get Gina.

Jemima was asked whats her preference. Not who don't you like.

Jemima did not like it that Gina asked her how old is she, after Jemima said she like younger men. Jemima thought she will get Gina back.
