Just imagine the outrage if it had been Conor listing the types of women he'd like to date, then knowing Deana was within earshot added at the end 'but not Indian women'. Imagine if he'd then gone on to accuse Deana of probably only dating people of her own race. I very much doubt many would have sided with him at all, there would have been a meltdown of 'Conor the racist, bullying Deana' posts.

I just don't think a person who would do this to someone should be allowed to remain in the house without being cautioned about slandering someone. It is looking apparent now that anyone who decides to take offence at what people say and call it racist, in their opinion, will interfere with the way people talk and make them much more wary of being themselves. And BB are accommodating this behaviour by dishing out warnings to people who are clearly not racist and did not intend to be offensive by any of their "language" used! And I don't care who agrees with me, but I find this behaviour disgusting!”

It was bordering on racism but it wasn't though. Jemima could have just meant that she only found certain nationalities attractive. I think Big Brother gave Jemima a formal warning just in case anyone made a complaint about this. Gina said she'd just experienced racism AFTER Jemima said that to her about probably not dating white men. The comment about Gina probably not dating white men was in the conversation they had while in the bedroom. After Gina came out of the bedroom, she THEN told the other housemates that she'd just experienced racism, or that she thought she had.

Mm... Big difference there, and that's that they WERE being blatantly racist about Deana in that series. Scott was racist about her and so were a couple of others.

No she said that before Jemima said anything about her not dating white men

She said it while she was waiting for Jemima to come and talk to her

There's no difference. I just substitued Jemima/Gina for Conor/Deana. The forum reaction would have been very different though, undoubtedly.

Not really if Conor had just said it but without the stuff before then nothing would be thought fof it.

Now if Jemima had said the same thing but has already made contestant remakes about Gina's race then it would be seen as racist

Did Conor make constant comments about Deana's race? I don't recall him making any.

Jemima has been against Gina since she entered the house with less cause.... and it's not as if Gina even nominated her.

It's interesting that some people will assume Conor was racist against Deana, despite there being no evidence.... yet will side with Jemima for making remarks they'd likely have slated Conor for.
