I'm not jumping down your throat. I'm just making the point that not saying something positive is not the same as being negative.
You can make a comment about skin colour or race which is perfectly benign and neither positive or negative.

Like a wig? Or just the colour?

She certainly does to me. The first time I saw her I assumed that she might have been part Malaysian.

Gina looks mixed race.

In no way does she look "full" (as you put it) black.

The blonde extensions and excessive make-up may alter her appearance, but, as another poster mentioned, I assumed she was Malaysian or South American in extraction.

I'm interested in her hair. Is it actually dark human hair that has been dyed blonde then attached to her own hair? Isn't that a bit odd?

Her hair is a weave (but could also be a wig). Do you know about weaves? It's basically like hair extensions that are sown into somebody's hair. It's very widely used by the black community as many have very short curly hair that they can't grow very long or do much with.

She said that her type is Mediterranean men, or that shade, like Dan is, and then tried to describe a skin colour as there wasn't a handy colour chart at hand.
She spoke of lighter and darker shades.

She said that she found Daley attractive, but he is attached.
Daley is not dark black, but is mixed race. But surely if she was racist wouldn't she have found Daley unattractive too?
Daley would be described as black in regards to somebody speaking about him in racial terms, but it appeared to me that Jemima was talking purely about skin colour, not race.

Just before you say that Daley isn't black, he's mixed race, consider that you've just described Gina as being black. When in fact she is just like Daley and is mixed race too. Gina is half Jamaican and half Cuban.”

Er, why bring up Chinese men then? They are a race, not a colour. Of course she was talking about race when she said 'Not black men, not Chinese'.

Mixed race men as regarded differently to fully black men as they have whiter features hence why Jemima wouldn't find them unattractive. Daley would be described as black solely by people who stick by the one drop rule, to others he is regarded as mixed race.”

Daley looks black to me. I would say he has like 1/6 of white in him maximum. Just look at his second name. I'm sure he identifies as black.

Well, as she's so rich it could be real hair as she can afford it. It's either actual blonde hair or dyed blonde hair that's been attached to her own hair - like hair extensions. Many black women have weaves but will deny it all day long, it's easy to spot though.

Your thread title is a question. It's an open invitation for discussion.
You asked a question, people are answering you.
You can't get angry and take your ball back in just because people aren't giving you the answers you want to hear.

What difference does it make her skin tone??

For centuries white people have been dissecting people of African origin! skin tones!

I am actually offended by all your comments, and many other posters.

Its not a joke, it effect peoples lives.

I think it's really confusing when light and medium brown and darker brown skin tones are referred to as black
Isn't that offensive in itself are there any brown skinned people on here who are upset to be referred to as black it reminds me how years ago how black and brown skinned people were called coloured?

By looking at her, you can tell that she as no black friends. Or she doesn't live in a very black area. She does her make up and her hair like a white person. She's not very self aware tbh.

Are you being deliberately obtuse ? Go back and read the post I was responding to, then you might understand my reply/analogy better.

Daley looks like a typical half black man to me or at least a quarter. Who knows what he identifies as, who cares...it's Dull Daley.

What should they be refered to, considering that a black person could have any of those skin tones? O.o

Well if you have to reference their skin tone do it individually

Well okay, lets take it that way and say that Gina is black.
Well by the same token so is Daley, who Jemima said she did find attractive, but as he was attached and young he was out of the question.

So if we're talking about skin shade, Jemima apparently isn't that attracted to men who are jet black, but likes a lighter shade such as Mediterranean or Daley's hue.

So when Gina asked Jemima "What's wrong with black men?", if she was talking about race then the answer would be "Nothing" because she finds Daley attractive.
If Gina was talking about 'black' as in skin hue the answer was the one Jemima tried to give to her. That her ideal isn't too dark and isn't too light, and Dan's colour is just perfect.

That doesn't make any sense. There are a different million shades of brown....

Oh how kind of you to allow a woman of African origin to be black!
