I guarantee Jemima wouldn't have been warned if...
Salv*

Gina didn't say to the others, "I just witnessed racism". I think that is what caused BB to call Jemima in and warn her. They certainly were scared as soon as Gina said that. Bear in mind, BB would have called Jemima in the DR straight away, but they didn't.

Who else thinks that she wouldn't have been warned if Gina didn't say that?

I never said she was. The warning for "potentially offensive language" wouldn't have come if Gina didn't bring it up. I felt BB would have let it go, but then panicked after Gina told the others.

They prolly felt obliged to give her a talking to, knowing the Ofcom brigade who jump on every little innocent comment would be hammering the phones ......

Well I do think both warnings thus far this series have been somewhat trigger happy. That being said, BB didn't call Jemima to the Diary Room until she started presuming to know what type of man Gina wouldn't go for. I think that is the comment that landed her in the shit. I mean what criteria did Jemima use to arrive at that conclusion?

It's impossible to say for certain, but the fact that she claimed Jemima's inital statement, that she 'doesn't generally go for black men' was racist (when it clearly isn't, IMO), suggests to me Gina was intent on playing the race card before Jemima came out with the stupic remark about Gina probably not fancying white men.

It's also worth asking whether or not BB would've given Gina a warning (and whether it would've caused such a stink on here) had it been Gina who said that she 'doesn't generally go for white men'.

I'm guessing not.

The same criteria Gina used to come to hers .....

Agree--this was Pulling The Race Card, but that makes Gina a wily, interesting HM now! The discussion was of 'what sort of men do you fancy', so specifying 'types' in no way indicates Racism as if you asked a gay guy the same and he said 'I don't fancy women'. Clever Gina, but BB was idiotic to 'caution' Jemima [whom I don't personally like] for her Personal Sexual Preferences when it was Gina who provoked the discussion. Clever GINA!!

I think there's some lines you don't cross, even in a game show, and playing the race card to further an agenda is crossing the line, IMO.

I think it's safe to say that no warning would have been issued from Big Brother. It almost goes without saying that (perceived) racism only goes one way.

I share your opinion too. I found it utterly disgraceful.Hope she's given her marching orders on Friday.

That's how it always happens isn't it? Sree, and earlier Charley in BB8 were the same I think. It's part of BB tactics.

altho I was never much fond of Marcus (wolverine lookalike) I have to say his finest hour was when he stood up for himself in the DR and wouldn't let them pin the racist tag on him .

Urgh...sree....makes my skin crawl. I actually couldn't watch that year, because there were no likeable characters there. Worst BB in my opinion....well...maybe not as bad as BB12.

This has nothing to do with these two its about the past where BB has been in the shit for not acting at all in serious situations. They just wanted to look like they were doing their job.

Maybe in your eyes. Why are you making trouble when there is no need.

Jemima's not very articulate and is not coming across as the sharpest tool in the box. I liked the "Don't bring my family into this", swiftly followed by bringing Gina's family into it.

She was outwitted and fell for it hook, line and sinker.
