He's winning her around. He should turn the tables and say no he doesn't want to meet her again if she says yes and see how she likes it.

It took her until now to realise she's been dating the wrong type of men. Stupid cow.

abi the "veggie yoga teacher" is one of the most vilest people i can remember on first dates- absolutely horrible....
i felt so sorry for him and thought he coped remarkably well with her...

I think Abi had some issues and didn't behave very well at the start of the date but I'll cut her some slack.

The turnaround was really nice and made me smile.

Abi said, "I'm worried that no-one will love me ever again". Well, I can pretty much guarantee her worries will be reality. We did see a better side to her by the end but that was entirely down to the guy. She was right when she said she needed him in her life.

Clearly the reason she didn't approve of the "piece of cow" on his plate was not that she is vegetarian but that she identified with it as a cow herself.

What is hortible?”

I thought Abi was joking at first, smiling and insulting the guy at the same time.
Whatever her issues, there was no need to constantly keep picking away at the fella.
Then goes to the toilet and hangs out there for 10 minutes.
He was a thoroughly nice chap and fair play to him sticking with it, I wouldn't be happy paying to act as her therapist.
I bet he paid the bill too.

That was the sort of 'meet cute' you get in films.

I'd have told her to dust by the time the mains turned up.
Out with the mp3 player, on with Radio 4 Archive on 4 and an interesting documentary, eat on my own.
That's in the imaginary world where I go on dates, mind.

I'll mention this again, the gender thing, he's got to entertain her 'do you get funnier'
Why is the onus on him to meet her standards, in her mind, what he wants just isn't a consideration.
What makes her think she holds all the cards.
She didn't question her own behaviour at all.

He saw right past her defences and had her eating out of his hand by the end of the evening. He's very astute.

I happen to also be asexual. It isn't an 'attitude to sex', we simply don't fancy anyone.

Nobody gets a choice in who they do or don't fancy.

it was a joke about how loads of women stop having sex after they get married not a deep and meaningful comment

It's okay, I suspected you were only joking.

...It's just that I'm also a vegetarian so I can take myself very seriously.

Liked the students. I'll get flamed for saying it but Richard the Oxford boy could be playing a genius game. Maybe he doesn't attract much female attention but putting it out there that he isn't physically attracted to them will have some girls thinking CHALLENGE! His date certainly seemed to sit up and take notice after that piece of news

That Abi was a piece of work. Thought she was teasing/flirting with the "do you get funnier?" and general put downs at first. Did wonder if it was a set up by the programme makers though. After all pairing a vegi with a meat eater probably wasn't going to work.
They occasionally seem to throw in one of those "unlikely to work" dates. A few weeks ago we had the single guy who wanted to start a family one day on a date with a mum. All went well until he found out she had kids and he clearly didn't want a ready made family so backed off. I'm sure they ask the daters for their likes/dislikes and generally try and make a match. Just sometimes throw in a likely clash for entertainment value.

If that was the case with Abi and her "match" then unfair on him especially as he's newly divorced and needed a boost not a put down. Found the turnaround with her sudden realisation about her behaviour thanks to him a bit staged too but then I'm a cynic
