Loved the couple at the end (the retoucher and accountant) - they had a good vibe about them.”

I loved the accountant guy, with the 'mustachio'. I didn't like the way retoucher he dated made him feel like he had to get rid. It was cute! They seemed a nice couple though.

Loved, loved, loved Kai - he had such dreamy eyes, I could gaze into them for hours. And it's nice to see a supermodel dating a regular guy - gives us all hope!

Well I love the new waiter, he is cute and sexy.

I can't be the only one to find the bartender so smoulderingly sexy as well, the way he looks up with his eyes and smiles.

I absolutely loved Jethro and his date, you could just tell they completely 'got' each other. They're so cute together and I really enjoyed watching it, this is what first dates is all about rather than a token gay guy with Tourette's and a tomboy.

Don't like the guy with the bow tie and moustache, it's almost as if he's trying far too hard. That date really bored me.

I agree that Jethro and date were charming. But I like the diversity of couples. And tomboyish het girls and gay people need more help with dating - finding someone special is far more challenging for them than it is for "regular" folk.

I was disappointed not to get an update on Jethro and his date at the end of the show! I expected to see good news regarding where they were currently at with everything.

Just goes to show, a pretty face and endearing attitude on a first date can make you think lots of great things about someone but in reality they can be a complete shit.”

Your post comes across as bitter. Qualify what you mean by 'arsehole' since Damian said he got the Tourettes as the result of someone breaking up with him (who he was in love with). His sincerity was palpable.

I did find I laughed at his Tourettes (it seemed funny to me the clicking and 'woo') which is not to say I disliked him - quite the opposite....he had a great character I thought.

That's right! What happened there?

Ive never seen the show before so this is a first time viewer and I enjoyed the show. I immediately fell in love with the Boat Girl, shes gorgeous.

Kinda felt bad for her that she really liked that guy and he just wasent interested, Id love to sweep her off her feet. Be cool if someone here knew her.

The feet lady was quite a cutie too but dont recall seeing what happened to her after the show.

How on earth do you get to be on this show anyway? Ive tried emailing channel 4 but never get a reply.

In case you missed it, Abbey (the boat girl) is back next week - dressed in what she feels more comfortable in. (The little snapshot that was shown looked like she had more luck that time!)

Felicity (the podiatrist) did hit it off with Jethro i.e. they were clearly going to see each other again (implied during the time they spent together dining) but it would have been good to get an update at the end.

Re. getting on the show...my guess is that this series is now complete but, at the end of the credits the name of the production company may spring up; if so, write to them. (This is not knowledge - just speculation i.e. something that may be worth trying).

Can we please, please, please get rid of Fred, he is like an itch you can't scratch, really get's on my wick. That guy really want's to be famous, his voice does my nut in, and he's always trying to come out with quirky sayings, like he thinks they are really prolific but I'm sure he Googled them before the camera was rolling. I like the show but it's not as good as it used to be, my favourite thing about it is the really cute hot smaller waitress, she is WOW!

I totally agree. I think that he should stick to welcoming the dates to the restaurant and drop the "Mr Sexy-Amour" pieces to camera.

I've noticed, that on odd occasions, the camera accidentally includes in shot the restaurant Security Guard.......walkie-talkie on hip and mobile in hand.

I'm wondering about all the other diners, occasionally you'll witness a couple from another date but many of the other diners are never shown. The TV Dates always tend to be in the middle of the room so the cameras can get round, but who are those people who are dating alongside the wall

I presume they're not "First Daters" are they just people going out to dinner? Is the restaurant also a normal restaurant at the same time ?

I can tolerate him better than the waitress intervention when the couple are at the table. Sometimes it is not a smooth transition and grates.

Awww...you never know! What starts out as incredible/exciting can hit a wall when there is what constitutes a 'deal breaker'.

BIB Prophetic, I think is what you were after, although I don't think that quite fits the bill of what Fred's pieces, they're more reflective than trying to be prophetic IMO, just and aside anyway.
Fred's not going anywhere, neither are the waiting staff, I think this is the formula Ch 4 have come up with for putting more bums on seats watching the program, you'll just have to suffer him.
I've sort of learned to zone him out now.
I think they've got a series of his pieces to camera they've given him to say and they just dial them in to suit the date in the edit.

I see they're trying to working in a staff unrequited romance with the existing bloke and new waiter both after CeCe or BeBe, can't remember her name.
I too, could do without all this 'side action' but it probably 'works' for a lot of viewers so it's here to stay.

I suspect Ch4 'rent' the place for certain days and fill the place with First daters, they've mentioned 200 daters before in the voice over.
I used to notice other First daters in the background to featured dates, see them a lot less now, well you can't recognise their faces put it that way.
Maybe those who don't make the edit are there effectively as background artists who are also on first dates.
In the Celeb version there were a few First Daters from earlier series in the background and sometimes foreground asking for autographs.

My memory might be weak here, but I'm sure that used to feel more natural, the bit where the waiting staff jump in for a running report on how the date's going.
Feels a bit more clunky now, like they're under orders to hit certain questions and to try and chivvy things along if it's not going well.

If I was put on the table on the edge of the room, next to the door I'd be thinking "Guess I'm not on the show then"

One of the guys has overly plucked eyebrows and I think he's wearing pink lipstick.

Admittedly I'm a bit late to the FD party having only watched this latest series but I don't get the Fred hate. I think he is as charming and personable here as he was on Michel Roux Jnr's Service series from a few years ago.

I'm watching Cycling forgot it was on, more traffic about the show than the actual dates these days.

Tonight's theme: introduce the person as completely unlikeable and then reveal sob story to make us feel bad for not liking them.
