This most recent episode seemed to have some good matches, which was nice.
I felt bad for Marie the teacher - she seemed really attractive and funny but with a vulnerable side, but it was lost on Devin (was that his name?). Considering he was so keen on dating a fellow teacher, you would have thought he'd at least have met her for a second date under more normal conditions to see how it went. Glad to see she's going to be giving it another go in the First Dates restaurant, anyway. I thought it was interesting that the editing of the intro montage and promos seemed to suggest that he had a real problem with her eating meat around him, when actually he wasn't all that bothered?
I'm glad the geeky DJ guy found someone on his wavelength. They seemed pretty well-suited.
The gay pairing, Philip and Simon, was really fun, and they both seemed like a laugh. It said at the end that they hadn't managed to fix up another dinner date yet, so I wonder if they ever will. I think Philip might still be too wedded to the idea of dating much younger guys.
I'm not sure the older lady will find what she's looking for - an older guy with the energy and adventurousness of a young guy. Her and the ex-roadie said they'd meet as friends, but does that ever actually happen in these situations? I'd be amazed if any of the people on the show who said they'd see each other as friends ever actually did.
The Essex-y duo at the end seemed like a good pairing, but they didn't really make much impact on me as a viewer. They were just... there.
I really love Merlin the barman. If I turned up for a date there, I think I'd happily sit at the bar and chat to him for ages.
