Nobody watch tonight?
I'm on +1, but this episode will bare a re-watching later on this week for me.

Liked the Irish nurse and her date, my sort of girl, she'd like to sit in watching documentary's
Charlie the hot lesbian and her date, seemed to be sexual sparks there but we didn't see enough of their date to know if it just physical attraction.
Jenny and Ali they certainly hit it off, snogging all over the shop, I could see why Ali could fancy Jenny, but didn't see enough of Ali to work out what she saw in him.

I like the bits of Merlin showboating and testing his various bar skills, stop him doing similar daft pieces to camera like Fred though
.
I watched tonight and agree generally with your thoughts.

I've really enjoyed the last several episodes. Either I've got used to it or they've improved it. They don't seem to have as many dreadful show-offs or wannabes just Interested in being on tv, and instead the participants genuinely seem to want to find a partner.

I feel this was the first good episode after a row of dull ones.

I was surprised that the blonde lesbian agreed to see the dark-haired one again. There didn't seem to be a spark there, and considering the blonde one said she was looking for a partner with "life experience", she came across as more mature than her date.

Even more surprising was that the lesbians were still going strong, whereas the connection between Marissa the school nurse and her date didn't last despite them having one of the best dates I've seen on this show.

I like this show and the last few episodes have got it right, the TV wannabes have gone leaving us with genuine daters.

Shame it didn't work out for the older couple or Tammi and her date, I thought they seemed to get on OK. Thought the dark haired girl was going to explode when the very pretty blonde one was talking about when a woman touches her .... 😋 lovely that they are still together. Marissa and her date seemed well suited, he certainly earned man points when he stood up to offer her a hug, pity they decided to leave it. Don't think we got an update on the first couple who went off to find a rooftop bar.

I've just watched tonight's. Really enjoyed it mostly. I cannot believe Carl and Marissa didn't go any further than two more dates. I was half expecting wedding bells! She was absolutely stunning I thought, and Carl seemed a top guy as well! Shame

Loved Charlie and Tania as well. Reminded me of the hot lesbian couple from last series who also got on amazingly well (I think they were the couple who banged their heads together outside!) - glad to see they seem to be getting on well
Yes I was also surprised about Carl and Marissa not lasting the distance. After some thought I think it might be that Carl seemed physically overkeen....remember he was saying what could be done at what stage of dating? Marissa seemed to have more boundaries in place, e.g. holding hands is for a 2nd date....might explain why they didn't get to a 3rd date! Such a shame - they were clearly sparked and excited.

Yes I greatly enjoyed watching the lesbos too - they seemed well matched i.e. not just physical attraction but mindsets. When a suicide prevents itself (as was the case with Charlie's mum), it can be a test regarding reactions. Tania clearly showed genuine empathy and consideration for its impact which was commendable.

Josh with the banana phobia.
Phobias can be very odd, e.g. a fear of buttons. It may have more to do with the mindset (i.e. in a fearful/insecure state) when presented with something - just a guess.

Any guy on a date with a woman who says he would suck David Beckham off and turn gay for him doesn't stand much hope of a 2nd date.

He was just voicing his thoughts out loud, i.e. had no filter - admitting he was no good at blind dates. I might have overlooked this if he had a winning personality....hmm.

Very surprised that Carl and Marissa didn't last, thought they had amazing chemistry. Twitter is very cynical about Carl, lots of "he obviously dumped her after sleeping with her" and so on?

Quite surprised that Tania and Charlie did last, I thought they just wanted to ride each other Would have liked an update on the Irish girl and her date too, but I guess when we don't get one we can presume that nothing came of it?

Josh and Tammi was kind of awkward, was anybody else thinking Josh is a closet case?

Oh yes! He mentioned how he made a beeline for the good looking women at bars....I forgot about that.

Yes I think so too. I doubt that he was even enjoying that 'manly' beer!

Josh was very camp, and I was surprised when he said he was looking for a girl.

I would say that he is in the closet, and I speak from experience because I was still in denial until I was 37.

There is less stigma now though to being gay, i.e. it is more accepted. Maybe he is a Christian....?

Or maybe he's straight.

Camp acting straight. As confusing and difficult to read as straight acting gay (stands back and waits for the stampede)

Does anyone know how the dates are initially paired up?

Are they complete "blind dates" matched by the production team of the show, or do the participants get to see a photo and brief bio of potential dates and arrange it themselves as in standard internet dating?

Felt sorry for Josh. Unfortunate that he ended up with an overweight triple-chin date who clearly had unrealistic expectations of the type of guy she could pull. Josh played the true gentleman and polite to the end in spite of an undeserved rejection.

Thought that the Irish girl was a real stunner......possibly the best looking date yet. As for the nurse, she was clearly more smitten than he was so I guess he pulled the brake on that relationship.

I don't think that Josh is at all gay, rather he displays all the lack of inhibitions we associate with young children.

I agree. Let's hope he gets invited back to try again.

Great show last night, as others have said it was nice not to have any attention-seeking personalities.

I don't know any names, but the ones who kissed for the first time in the after room looked like they really got along, they had great eye contact so I was surprised they didn't carry on.

The lesbians didn't convince me that they had sexual feelings for each other, the dark haired one looked extremely tense and I can't see it working.

Tania got visibly overheated with excitement in Charlie declaring that she has never had bad sex with a woman - she had to fan herself to cool down!! Did you miss that???

The context of Tania looking 'extremely tense' was when Charlie disclosed that her mother committed suicide....so how should she have looked then? Like this? ....

I thought they were well matched i.e for attraction and similar mindsets (e.g. ability to empathise and show understanding). The update at the end with the photos and relaying how much time they spent together said it all.

Hmm, I took that comment to mean more that he went for the wrong type of girls, i.e he had been a bit superficial but was now looking for something more real, which I thought was fair enough. He seemed genuine enough to me, like you can usually spot the d*ckheads from a mile off but he didn't seem like one.
