I felt sorry for him (re. being conned with the Thai girl) although he was a bit of an idiot not to heed the warnings about her. She must know what gullibility looks like!

I think they (editor) went on about the Thai girlfriend a little too much.
Once he'd said his bit on the date and his first pre date piece to camera, we didn't need to hear him talking about it yet again in all his pieces to camera.
Laura, his date I think the boobs were a little too much, well she was showing too much in that dress, it can be very distracting to a bloke and I'm not a 'boob' man.
Then again some women with big boobs like the attention 'they' get.

Teddy and her pink haired date, I thought she was well over 21, but I'm useless with people's ages.
There certainly seemed to be some chemistry there, I don't know how Pink hair could possibly get to the end of date session and not think Teddy fancied her, ginger hair, freckles, big bum, etc, everything about her was getting positive reactions from Teddy.

No real update on Teddy and Tallulah, apart from it turned into a late one.

It would be nice if the First Dates staff would behave like proper waiting staff and stop clowning around, chivvy the dates along, get the mid date reports.

After the first series his 'thoughts on love' became irritating and I FF till he's finished.

I agree about the unprofessional attention seeking from the waiting staff, if they behaved like that in a restaurant where I was eating I'd have to say something.

The barman seems to have the right balance between having a professional & mature attitude without being too stuffy, whilst being friendly without being too over familiar.

Yes I really like Merlin, the barman. You are right about his attitude and he doesn't play up to the camera. Unpretentious and open minded too! Not an easy job given some of the remarks the daters make!

Another thumbs up from me regarding Merlin's approach.

The bloke going on and on and on about his ex-Thai gal, honestly it was like he was the first person to have this happen too and still expected sympathy. No compassion for his date then. Way too soon to be dating.

I was a little surprised by the fact things didn't happen between the fireman and his date, as they seemed to get on like a house on fire. I guess not. It's interesting that with girls like her and the Nando's girl the other week it seems like there's a fixation with a generation of girls for men they date to be 'gentlemen' (which usually seems to translate as 'to pay for everything'). Maybe it's growing up around WAG culture?

Also, it is just me that finds it vaguely weird like with that girl and the Italian guy where they say "I want to meet someone like my mother/grandfather/uncle/whatever"? Resembling a family member is probably the last thing I want in a date (although I know they don't mean physically as such!)

Teddy was very attractive (although I'm not keen on nose rings), but I agree with others that her date looked older than 21. It's interesting that the lesbian couples on the show seem to have a much better success rate on average than the straight and gay male couples.

I wasn't keen on either of the 'Italian' pairing. He seemed too geezer-y, and she came across as quite stuck-up to me.

The ex-banker guy looked a lot older than he said he was. I'd have thought he was in his fifties. He came across way too diffident to really impress a date I think.

The guy with the scarf definitely didn't seem to be over his Thai girlfriend. He might have had more of a chance with the Margot Robbie lookalike if he hadn't gone on about her so much. He probably could have made more of an effort with his grooming though - you're on a date mate, at least shave your neck!

Too right, would've been OK to see her gyrating around a pole in that dress but on a 1-2-1 over a dinner table, far too much. No objection to a boob job if she'd been left with 'spaniels' after child birth but dear me, leave something to the imagination.

Well in the update (at the very end of the programme) it did say that they went on a 2nd date but then Mark, the fireman found love. So...not a player then as someone else here supposed!

They didn't go on a 2nd date. It said "Ellie never got to sample Marks chicken and chorizo. Soon after their date, Mark found love with someone else". So he is definitely a playa.

Well by not sampling his food I took that as meaning they didn't get physical.

Finding love is the opposite of being a player!

Just watching these two so unaware of the outcome, as soon as she made the remark about being from Northern Italy about him being Southern Italian I thought she was looking down on him. I don't really like men like him who must have played hundreds of women when he had his looks, got his just desserts now he's on the shelf
