setting phone & PC up so I can put music on the phone
I think I did ask for advice abut this somewhere
in the past but thought I have a go now, so I connected up the phone to the laptop (Vista) and it promted me to search online for a driver, this I did but it was neve compltng so I went to Samsungs website a nd found the below software but a sign said this file may damage your computer so i lost my nerve. Do I need to download this?I'm trying to pu music on the flash card. But may opt to ut it on to the phones memory, some pointers would be great to help get the hang of this. The phone is a Galaxy ace gt-s5830. Thanks in advance Win XP/Vista/Windows 7 2.5.3.13043_14_1 SAMSUNG Kies,PC Sync 29 Apr, 2013 MULTI LANGUAGE 66.33 MB |

You should be able to simply plug the phone into a usb port, wait a few seconds and it will appear as a external drive/device.
Then you can drag and drop the music on. |

Aologise for the state of my last post, PC not performing as should or probably me!
Ok I managed to rip the cd to the laptop, had completely forgot how to do this, connected the phone opened (computer) clicked on the 'f' datachable drive and up comes the message 'install disc' cam up, the micro flash card is in the phone so I took it out and re-installed and the same message came up! so i can't drag files to the card, what next? I am showing my inability to get this, just wish I had been born a few years later. Thanks in advance |

You normally get a rop notification on the phone after attaching USB 'Mount USB storage?'
You need to say yes to make the memory and SD card ready for copy and paste. You can also take out the card and put in a USB card reader. |

All phones I have had just worked, Samsung too I think, so there is no need for Kies.
I once had a situation where Windows USB ports are full with older devices and port usage needing deleting. But using a different PC confirms that Windows problem.. |
