Farewell to one of the series' most memorable ever contestants. Let's face it, he was never going to win - his commercial inexperience means he would have needed way too much hand-holding as a business partner - but it's been fun watching him.

Good luck to him in whatever he chooses to do. It's a shame that his 'abdication' - which was partly him cracking under pressure but also seemed like a genuine decision taken in the best interests of the team - was painted only as a weakness. I'm not saying he should have done it, but he stepped down when no one else would ever have considered it and he knew full well that if his team lost he would be fired as a result.

When I'm older, if I find someone like Jason I would be very happy! What a lovely, genuine guy who just finds the good in everyone even the people who aren't very nice to him. Great person!

I thought Jason deserved the boot on this occasion.

That said, I'll miss watching him - he seemed like a really nice fella. It made a pleasant change from the usual desperate zeleb wannabes.

I still don't get why a doctor (Leah) would appear on this show ... and Jason - love him - but he too must have known what it's like with all the back stabbing etc and that it wouldn't have suited his personality?

I see Myles as the candidate to win this, imo.

He doesn't play the childish, egotistical self-centered games the rest of them play and he does seem to be this years voice of reason.
He keeps a low profile most of the time but when it comes time to deliver (such as the presentation today) he actually proves he's more than just talk, again unlike most of the others.

I will miss Jason, he was like a nice version of Boris Johnson.
All the charm and humour without the ego and dominance of Boris.

But this is the Apprentice, nice guys finish last and arrogant, selfish welsh vampires who think they're gods gift to every single micro-element of each task are kept in because they make good T.V. even though you know Lord Sugar wouldn't trust setting up a business with them in a million years

I think Jason was the right one to go for his dithering, though Luisa being fired for her poor attitude would have been fair too.

If the other team had lost, it would surely have been Jordan who got fired. The team's main failure was that they didn't get an overall vision linking their website and advert, and that can really only be down to the PM.

I laughed at how Luisa waved to her audience at the start of her pitch. That was "so cringe"!

Leah is totally forgettable to me. When I was watching You're Fired and Jason was talking about "Leah", I was wondering for a while why no one was correcting him on Luisa's name!

Why wouldn't Leah want to get her 15 minutes of fame, though? She's young and only recently qualified, so it's not like she's a surgeon or anything yet. Plenty of time for her to focus on being a medical professional later if that's how she wants to continue.

As for Jason, I'm sure all applicants know full well what they're letting themselves in for. But I guess you just apply in hope knowing the odds are against you, and when in actually happens and you make it on the show you figure the publicity (and, for some, the chance that you might actually win it) is worth the likely humiliation. Seems fair enough. It isn't what I'd choose to do, but there are plenty for whom that equation is attractive enough.

Even dafter that the decision was totally down to LAS, & the "Mature couple" were nowhere near 70.

The final call on the advertising task has always been down to Sugar. It's just that usually it's more obvious which is the better team, so he merely confirms what the experts tell him. Both teams made errors here, and although I believe Sugar chose the right winner I think he might also have been influenced by the fact that he felt he had to send a strong message and fire Jason for abdicating responsibility - so he 'fixed' his decision.

The message should be clear to all future candidates now: change PM mid-task at your peril.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Jason had remained as PM. The website error couldn't be changed, and he could have delegated tasks to Luisa without relinquishing the PM title, but without the abdication it's possible that Sugar could have changed his decision (with a suitable edit to highlight more of the errors in Endeavour's efforts). If that had happened, then Jordan would probably have been on thin ice instead.

It's funny, the 'marketing' task is usually my favourite episode of the series but last night's one left me a bit feeling a bit flat. I think it was because there was so little scope for innovation in the product (you're basically just choosing a target market and name).

I agree. That, and neither advert was quite as catastrophically awful as Octi-Kleen, Pants Man or some of its other predecessors.

Phew, it was quite hard keeping quiet about this for two days, I attended the You're Fired filming on Monday and knew about Jason then.

I am quite angered that the mutineers have gotten away with what they've done. It wasn't an 'abdication', it was a coup. He was forced out due to a lack of no confidence, Jason chose the wrong tac when he spoke of his courageousness, he should have cited bullying, which is exactly what happened.

We all know Luisa is an arch bitch, but I had hoped Neil and Fran would have insisted Jason stay on, Neil had backed the mature market, and should have supported his PM, Fran I just felt was too decent a person to be that underhanded - I was wrong. I also felt that the BBC may have perpetuated the whole thing, as it was felt a bit Only Way Is Essex the way Jason was removed from his position.

Obviously Jason didn't help himself with his dithering ways, but gung-ho tactics of Luisa were also wrong.

There shouldn't have been 'Two PM's' in the BR as Luisa had officially taken over, being a co-PM meant Jason was brought into the boardroom, had Luisa been a sole PM, she might - she just might have let Jason go back to the house, after Nicks attack on her.

It's just left a nasty taste that the villains won.

I agree about Luisa, but I think you're being a bit harsh on Neil and Francesca. Their main concern was recovering from a poor first day and winning the task. If Jason hadn't been willing to stand down, I doubt either of them would have supported the switch.

Although it's not made clear at any point, given that the two teams were relatively close in terms of the (lack of) quality of their outputs, I do wonder if the final straw in Sugar determining who won was the abdication/coup? In his shoes, I can imagine he would want to clamp down on this kind of shenanigans ever happening again, and allowing the abdicating PM to escape would have suggested that it's possible to get away with it.

No problem with Jason going - although his decision to stand down was in many ways brave, he was a weak PM overall - but I hope they follow through now and deliver Luisa her comeuppance. For all the decent entrepreneurial skills she has shown, she has shown that she just will not listen to anyone other than herself - so why would Sugar want to work with her?

He was the first person to be fired twice in the same episode.

I think Fran was only too quick to agree with Luisa, Neil was a bit more hesitant, but then he was quite nasty about Jason in the 'comments' bit on YF so maybe he just didn't want to look too eager to remove Jase as it may have proved to be the wrong move. Neil sensed this by agreeing that Luisa had bullied Jason in the BR thus avoiding Nicks wrath.


I think they were far apart in terms of quality. The Cufflinks advert was far more polished, it didnt marry up to the website, but at least the website looked professional. Friendship and Flowers was woeful throughout. That aside, I disagree it was an abdication, and that if Jason resisted, Luisa would have taken over anyway.

I'm not convinced the two campaigns were actually that far apart in quality - more that the edit made it so. It was clear that the industry experts weren't obviously saying that one was clearly superior (or less inferior!), which they usually do on this task.

If Jason hadn't stepped down, I'm sure Luisa would have tried to take over - but without Neil and Fran's co-operation she wouldn't have succeeded. Neither of them are overly friendly with her, so it's not like they would have rushed to back her. It was only Jason's willingness to fall on his sword that opened the door for them to agree to the change.

I've said all along that Luisa would go a long way in the competition but wouldn't win. Other than grudgingly accepting that she does have some entrepreneurial skills, I've seen nothing to change that original opinion.

Neil has berated (if that's the right word) Jason though, in the previous episode he was very impatient and quite dismissive of him.

He's a good man and meant no ill, I think they were genuine reactions to Jason's neither-here-no-there-ness. Jason is cerebral in his own way but belongs in a castle somewhere

Indeed not. I think that was a sign of his increasing maturity in the process. His actions seemed motivated towards getting the best result for the team than any selfish reason, and I am certain that he would not have agreed to the switch had Jason not agreed to it.

Luisa's motivation was, I'm sure, partly motivated by the desire to win, but with her it also came across to me as it being about her getting her own way.

I think if LS hadn't have used his double firing card last week, he could well have used it this week and booted Luisa out.
