Earphone connection wont fit into ipod touch

Something has protruded and wont let me put the headphone jack in all the way, have tried a paper clip but no good? Any advice folks?

I would make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest apple store.

If it's still under warranty they'll fix or replace it for free.

Don't try and fix it yourself. That can invalidate your warranty.

Ok mate. I really have had a good probl around with a drawing clip but no fluff or anything has come out. I wonder what is stopping the headphobe connection from "clicking" in place?

The guy at Maplins got a torch out and said that there was a thread of clothing stuck there, used a pin and some compressed air and still my earphone won't fit -something is protruding through the h/phone socket that is stopping it "click" in all the way....can't see this thread inside it either!

Apple said the fluff stuck in the headphone socket was impossible to remove, so as it was still under warranty they replaced it for free
