Francesca's reactions to Jason were strange this week. They seemed to get on well with each other in previous weeks but their reactions to each other this week were aggressive. I don't get where it came from.

I thought it was great to see some fire out of her rather than just looking miffed all the time.
It may actually do her some good because what she's lacking is a bit of aggression and passion. |

First time this series where someone hasn't tried to pull off a Jedi Jim. I was impressed.

What was her problem, it was her or Neil who had to come back
She was acting as though it was some great mis-justice she was brought in over Neil, why??? |

Yeah as though she's like the strongest candidate left. She's really bugging me like Jade from last year. She's just there for no reason. Over Rebecca who was definitely a more able candidate.

Just to my post my argument from one of the other threads, as it's relevant here to; this is my opinion as to why Francesca was so angry in the boardroom.
"I'm surprised to see how differently you all seem to have seen it to me. It was Jason, not Francesca, who went down in my estimation here. Not because he brought Francesca in; either her or Neil had to be brought in, and Neil has been very strong throughout (however big-headed and annoying). I felt Jason was very unfair and actually downright dishonest in blaming her over the market research. He claimed that the market research had been misrepresented to him when it had not, and it was that I think so infuriated Francesca. I thought she had every right to be angry, and I'm surprised no-one else on this thread has seen it that way. It was right she wasn't fired anyway; the advert was awful, but unless her business idea is film directing that doesn't really matter so much. What's more relevant is that she went about making the advert in a businesslike and efficient way, and carried out market research with no problems. Sugar telling them they should have ignored the market research is all very well in hindsight, but you know if they had done so and had lost he'd have told them how idiotic they were to ignore the market research. In any case, that was Jason's call. " |

always makes me wonder when I see defences like the one Francesca put up last night
theres no doubt she was the person behind all the of the bad decisions that cost her team the task imo , she changed the focus to the very old theme and came up with the advert to support that , whereas if they had went with the more active approach to the same target market it would have worked so much better however she did put in a lot of effort and delivered a complete product my dilemma is should she just be let off for effort over success. one of my favourite phrases in the workplace was always "don't confuse activity with progress" and I think her contribution on this task fell right into that trap , if anything in a business environment its worse expending a lot of time and resource on a completely unsuitable product , which they should have realised straight away not saying she should have got fired , theres no way Jason could really have survived what happened altho a lot of what he said did make sense , unfortunately logic sometimes gets drowned out by ego in this show luisa very lucky there was a double elimination last week or she would have been gone too |

but the 50+ target audience was not the wrong target market , so her objecting to them targeting that age group was irrelevant , they quite clearly said that the over 50 market was where a lot of the money for this type of service was
the mistake was having gone for the over 50 market they then chose to stereotype them as old fogies and made an advert and other media portraying that , those were quite clearly her decisions both Jason and luisa had been pushing to portray the age group in a "young" way which was what all the experts seemed to think would have been a positive move, it was her and neil that were behind the friendship and flowers concept that everything else was then based on |

Whichever, Franny is buggered next week. She has Lou and Neil in her team and they will both eat her alive. Dumb cow should have used her brain and tried to deflect the blame onto Lou.
Lou is obviously one clever girl. Tried to BFF Franny this week, being nice about her in the BR, but next week, she will feel the sting. |

Her approach was based on the market research they did, and I saw nothing wrong with what she did there.

You don't think the people she picked to survey were too old? They looked much older than 50 to me. I think she was aiming it at old-age pensioners.
It's possible the focus group may have been set up for them. |

Neil did everything wrong that Francesca did. In addition, though, he pushed the fatal concept, and left Luisa to take over , and Francesca to direct the advert. A classic case of dominating events whilst avoiding visible responsibility. |

I think she probably knew it was a safe bet as one of the PMs was always going to get fired for this one. So she gets to look confident and assertive with no real risk.

Well, they were over 50 - perhaps the team were thinking of people well over 50.

Although that often happens, on this occasion they seemed to be talking to random people in a pub.Quote:
