Alex at this point holds the record for the longest anyone has survived into the process without being a Project Manager. Previously the record was held by Tom Pellereau, who had his first (and only) PM stint in Week 8.

I don't know why Lord Sugar didn't make Alex PM this week actually. He doesn't always do it when there is only one person left - he didn't do it last year with Jade, for example - but I would have thought that as Alex wasn't PM last week, Lord Sugar would have appointed him this week. Does anyone know about next week?

He is PM next week. Whether he is appointed by Sugar is as yet unknown.

He hasn't strongarmed PMs much this series, interestingly enough.

Only Francesca and Leah in Week 6, iirc.

But yeah, I'd be very surprised if he wasn't appointed PM next week.To be fair to him, its not as if he's deliberately dodging being the PM. He's volunteered to be the PM three times, but just hasn't been elected in.

Tim Stillwell and Kurt too for the Beer task, IIRC. So, maybe not as rare as I thought... but still probably rarer than the average.

In Series 1, he only chose the PMs once - that was with Matthew and Adele in Week 3.

It's interesting that in this series he chose the PMs so early on. He's only done it as early as Week 2 once in the past, and that was with Stella.

Was Stella ever officially appointed? All he did was send Stella to Synergy and said whip those boys into shape. He never said (that was aired) that she had to do it.

In Series 4 he appointed PMs 6 times!

Week 3: Ian and Sara
Week 5: Claire and Lucinda
Week 6: Kevin and Michael
Week 7: Jennifer and Lee
Week 9: Alex and Raef
Week 10: Michael and Lee

Yes, I thought that. It wasn't explicitly said (that we saw) that she had to do it, he just said that she'd whip them into shape (or something along those lines). However, the way that she just appeared to be PM straight away with no discussion suggests that he meant she had to lead the team.

It genuinely looked to me that they deliberately voted Jordan pm because they knew Alex hadn't done it before and it would make it seam like he was either hiding or nobody trusted him.

That said, I really don't like Alex.

I thought it was strange that they voted for Jordan this week because usually they automatically vote for the one who hasn't done it yet I think.

At the start of the episode Myles joked with Alex that he'd probably put himself up for PM and get voted down again. I think there's definitely tactics going on to some degree to crowd Alex out of the role and make him look weak.

I think part of it is his age - at 22, wasn't he the youngest candidate out of everyone (possible exception of Sophie) ?

Either that, or some of the others see him as a possible threat and so want to undermine him in front of LS, but not do it explicitly, if that makes sense.

I don't know if it's his age - Tim was 23 and elected PM fairly handily, and 25 year old Luisa was elected unanimously over 35 year old Rebecca.

I do think he might have been playing the "I'll wait as long as possible to be PM" tactic that other winners have used (Simon and Lee both said they did this very deliberately in their series, I think Michelle might have interviewed to the same effect as well, and let's face it, Tom was blatantly doing it) and some of the others have picked up a way to counter-play it.

Its actually quite logical to go for a proven PM rather than an unknown - after all if Jordan gets them the win, they are stuffing caviar down their gullets whilst unknown Alex might get them the risk of being fired.

Tim was elected by Lord Sugar, so he doesn't count.

Plus I assume it's easier to win as PM when there are so few left, by then you know their strengths and weaknesses and you don't get so much bickering, by this stage everyones "in it to win it"
