Hi guys

I'm sorry of this has been asked before but I'd like to know if there is a way to transfer data from one iPhone to another.

I had a look on the Internet and there is the method of backing up an iPhone and them doing a restore from back up in the new one. I don't mind doing this but I'd like to know if it transfers everything.

If it helps, I want to transfer EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5. In the end it should be like the only difference is the phone because all my stuff should be on there.

Is this possible?

Thank You

Just sync your old phone to iTunes, then connect your new phone, install as a new device and sync and everything should go over (although you'll need to make sure you have saved your photos in a folder and signposted iTunes to that folder on your computer).

Every app, song, film, video, calander entry, reminder, photo will appear on your new phone. It really is seamless.

Thank you so much!

What do you mean by signposting iTunes to a folder?

The other equally good method of doing this is an iCloud backup. When you get your new phone, you just restore it from the backup.

You save your photos in a folder on your computer, but in the photos tab of iTunes you need to tell it where you've saved those photos. Then, when you sync, it will load all your photos in that folder to your device.

Yes, but iCloud doesn't back up everything does it? Photos, for example, iCloud doesn't save your entire Camera Roll, which if you've had a phone for 2 years, could be very big.

iCloud can back up your entire Camera Roll, yes. But of course, if you have a lot of photos, they'll be larger than the 5GB of free iCloud storage.
