Hello everyone and welcome to the third live show of the second series of The X Factor: Mix It Up!

Last Monday
, ten acts performed songs relating to military matters. It was a great show overall, with a few judges even going as far as to say that it was the best show of the series so far. Unfortunately, the show being so good didn't make anything easier for the judges, as they still had to send one act home. It was between Sarah Watson and Quatrele Da'An Smith in the sing-off, and after a double deadlock (with both the judges' vote and the public vote being unable to decide a victor) it was Sarah who became the latest eliminee, finishing in 10th place. That means Kevin is now down to his final act, and could potentially lose all of his acts by show three. He's probably not going to let it come that far though.

Anyway, tonight the remaining nine contestants will be performing songs relating to business in one way or another. Expect to see a lot of notes by the judges and a lot of strange connections to the theme tonight, the judges have sure been creative this time. As always, the lines will open once all nine acts have performed. Once they have, the DS public (and the judges themselves) will be able to vote for their favourite acts in a bid to keep them out of the bottom 2. Much like last show, only one act will be leaving the competition tonight, which means it's up to the judges to decide which of the bottom 2 acts will be packing his/her or their bags tonight.

Without further ado, allow me to introduce the marvelous judges and the top 9 of The X Factor: Mix It Up!

Hi there, I'm unfortunately about to go into an interview. I should be out within 30 or so minutes, though!

Great, with Justin gone for half an hour, it seems that NO-ONE is here. Perfect timing judges...

I guess I'll be doing a monologue for a little while then, at least until either Jack or Kev arrives (I don't have much faith in Zak anymore ).

So for the first performance of tonight's show, we head over to Zak and his over 25s. The act that's about to go on stage received a lot of praise last show. Unfortunately it seems to be become a trend to not follow up well, as we've seen with Caitlin and Sarah previously. Can Joseph Whelan break the curse and At Vance (yes that was a pun) to the next round with their cover of Abba's Money, Money, Money?

Joseph I have to say I wasn’t a big fan of this performance compared to the other performances you’ve given across the course of the competition. You’ve been pretty much amazing up until tonight where everything just sort of went wrong for you in my opinion. The tone of the lead singer just match yours and it felt a bit like you were screaming the song instead of singing it with some rock edge. I appreciate the risk of the song and ABBA (didn’t see that coming) but this is one of those things that just didn’t pay off unfortunately Joseph. If you’re here next week I hope you come back and do those amazing performances if you’re here next week.

I already have, what do you think I'm doing in the meantime while those stupid 30-second comment timers are active?

Joseph, I don't know what it is, but I'm not feeling it this week from you. That song was pretty grating on my ears, and it took your gravel and grit to places I didn't want to see them go. This was just WAY too much for me, and I think that some of the other judges might agree? It seems you're having problems taking your craft in a direction everyone likes - I loved you the past two shows, but this time, not at all.

Well, this song is rather ‘business’! I found this theme to be rather difficult so was rather pleased to come across this cover of this very popular song. I personally loved it, Joseph, I thought the vocals were incredible – especially the shown range. I’m not sure whether everyone will like it, but we’ll see. Well done Joseph!

Joseph, what happened? Last week was by far your best performance in the competition, this week was by far your worst performance in the competition. I appreciate the risk that Zak took with this song, firstly the fact that it was an Abba song and secondly the fact that it was a rock cover of an Abba song. However for me, he slightly overdosed on the rock this week and for me, the arrangement just didn't work. I feel like as great as Abba are, Mamma Mia tracks are far too theatrical and this just felt like a musical theatre performance, I think the problem is by going all rock on this cover, it ended up being 3 minutes of you screaming an Abba song. I thought you were amazing last week but this was a letdown for me.

So we start off with some seriously painful comments for Joseph there. Will he be in trouble later tonight or will the public forgive him?

Next up, it's one of Jack's groups. They have gone through a number of ups and downs over the last few weeks in terms of comments, so hoping to live up to their previous performance are Black Ivory singing Electrify by Jakwob ft Jetta!

Black Ivory

Girls, this is a monumental moment for you as you know what? That was an absolutely electrifying performance, if you'll pardon the pun! I thought it was exactly the type of performance I had been waiting for from you girls, it had that urban element that worked so well for you in the Judge's Houses performance and aside from that, it was edgy. It had a lot of attitude and I really think that this is the first time that I feel like you as a group have really clicked, you felt like a polished act tonight and I thought the harmonies were spot on, this was a genius choice from Jack and one which really worked for you five, well done Black Ivory, it was fantastic.

Hey! This was good, Black Ivory. I thought the song itself was very heavily produced which put me off a little – the song not being that great itself. However I thought it suited you very well so I think you’re going to do just fine when it comes to the results tonight. I also think Justin will absolutely love it, so well done.

Ok, girls, this was pretty good. I love Jetta, I love that song, but I can't help but think it was a bit too much dubstep for you. This is more of a harder-edged song I could see GQ performing, but for you, it just seemed a bit out of place. One thing I loved was that the harmonies were spot on. This just seemed a bit too hard for you girls, but vocally, it was there.

Well last week everybody seemed to really like the edgy Black Ivory but some judges said they wanted something a bit less dull so I decided that it was time for the amazing Jakwob and Jetta to make their appearance. This song is just so you with these amazing harmonies in the chorus and of course the edgy and strong vocals that just work so well with you guys. I feel like you’re really growing in this competition as you kind of went from being the ones no one were really impressed with in bootcamp but now you’re just growing and becoming a fantastic act! I really think this was your best performance so far and basically bravo girls as this performance was simply brilliant and fantastic!

Good comments from the judges for the girls that form Black Ivory there, it looks like they have indeed been able to live up to the expectations. How will this affect the voting?

Next up, with a song that seems to have been made for this theme, it's Danielle Blakey singing Million Dollar Man by Lana Del Rey, the first of the two Lana songs we'll be hearing tonight.

First of all I loves me a bit of Lana. Secondly I am not sure about this for you Danielle, I mean so far your mentor has basically nailed who you are and what type of music you need to be performing up until now. Lana’s voice just feels too quirky for you in my opinion although she does have a slightly element of country in her voice which makes the performance seem more like you but overall I’d say that this wasn’t your best performance but I still don’t worry about you as your mentor has proved on more than one occasion he knows what he’s doing with you

Love Lana, love you, and I love Lana for you. I think this was the best possible choice your mentor could have picked for you this week. Million Dollar Man is a great song that shows off range and tone really nicely, and I think that you did a great job on this performance. You're back up high after last weeks more disappointing showing for me, so well done, Danielle!

Sorry to be so critical of your acts tonight Zak but again a performance that I feel didn't feel like you at all Danielle. I just think that for me, you have power to your voice whereas this was much more of an indie performance? Your tone is also quite light, with a slight touch of soul and as I said last week, a little bit of country to it so Lana Del Rey who has a very unique tone just feels totally at odds with the rather strong direction Zak had put in place for you. For me Danielle, it was just a very average performance and I was disappointed that you didn't live up to your usual standards with this, if you're here next week, I hope that you'll be back on form.

Hello, Danielle! Obviously you don’t sound exactly like Lana, but we have to picture the song with your vocals and with that, I think it worked brilliantly. It’s a good song and requires a vocal style such as yours. I also particularly love the “one for the money, two for the show” line. Well done, Danielle – I hope we have a long time in the competition to go.

Mixed comments for Danielle this week, perhaps slightly better than what she got last week but still not a patch on the great comments she got in week 1. Will she ever convince the whole panel again, and more importantly, has she convinced the public tonight?

The next performance will be brought to you by the last of the girls. She is Kev's last shot at winning the competition, so hoping to propel herself into a frontrunner position it's
Morgan Sheather performing Money by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals (<3 )

Is this the second appearance of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals or is that something else? Nevertheless, this song choice was quite good! I think I preferred last week’s and the week before to this, but I still really enjoyed it. I think Grace is a good choice for Morgan and I like the use of the theme – I see Kevin & I have gone for it in the same way! Well done, Morgan – I hope you stick around.

Losing Sarah last week was a huge blow but as I said, you only need one to win and you just put yourself in a very strong position with that performance Morgan! It was amazing, you have brilliant stage presence and I loved the bluesy element of your voice combining with the raspy elements to deliver this catchy performance. I thought that it was an incredible performance from you Morgan. You're really talented and this song showed off your talent, I believe that we can really go far, I will be focusing all my time and attention on you Morgan so I think we're destined for success.
