EE about to enter a really exciting period
According to Ms Newman.
I really hope it's true. It's also being billed as a huge summer and autumn for the show. We have a new villian in Carl, Danny's return full time. Jake's arrival, Cindy Jr arriving, Ronnie's return and possible return of David Wicks. Michael's dark exit and also Jack's exit. We also still have a possible new family arriving. |

Sounds like they have big plans for Jamie Lomas character.

He's playing one of the biggest background characters in the shows history. |

I don't watch Hollyoaks but is this guy a good actor. I am guessing he will have a connection to the guy who tuned up yesterday

I'll believe it when I see it! EE hasn't been genuinely 'exciting' in years, sadly.

I hope EE improves again. I have been enjoying it quite a bit recently, last few weeks have been a big improvement. I'd like more storylines for Lola that don't involve Lexi please

To be fair, last's year summer was brilliant for EE. But autumn was definitely disappointing though. Only December was a great month IMO.

No... no it wasn't brilliant. It was crap.
Eastenders is completely unwatchable at the moment. Lorraine has ruined it, almost beyond repair. The last time the show was truly exciting was probably the Live Episode and the Queen Vic fire!!! |

![]() All I remember last summer was that awful Who's the Shagger storyline. As for an exciting new summer/autumn I wouldn't get your hopes too high. We had the same sorts of statements last year and look how that panned out. Having said that recent castings do long promising. When I say that, it's not so much the new actors/characters I'm referring to but clearly the show FINALLY understand that there is a problem and they're doing something to shake things up. This means less focus on Brannings and more on newer, fresher faces. This can only be a good thing. These new characters are a risk.. It could pay off or EE could fall flat on thier face but soaps and dramas are all about taking risks and EE have played it too safe for too long now. |

We *might* be in for a okay summer if quality improves but I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.

Last year March - June were brilliant, as was one week in August. That was it. July and August were tainted by that awful who's the shagger storyline. June was good because it continued the focus on the Mitchells, as well as Janine and Michael's drama, and of course we had their wedding and the birth of Scarlett. That one hour episode, was brilliant. Unfortunately episodes like that only show what EE is capable of, rather than what happens regularly. Saying that, at least we have exits and introductions over the summer to make it EE exciting. Hopefully, that'll come to fruition.

I really hope things turn around soon. I like new Peter and Gary Lucy but am a bit gutted about Jamie Lomas joining - I hated Warren Fox with a burning passion! |

I am honestly not saying this to be offensive but how do you remember what happened in each month and especially one week in August? I'm genuinely intrigued! I have watched EE religiously for years and couldn't tell you what happened when (bar something really big or the Christmas episodes for example).
