I need some advice here please. My son bought an LG50PH660V smart tv but the BBC iPlayer isn't working. It's connected to the net and other apps are working fine. He's getting 'unsupported device' message but tv states it is compatible with BBC iPlayer.

Has he updated the software?, normally they don't do iPlayer 'out of the box' but require a software update to add it.

Thanks for the reply Nigel and he's checked for an update but none available at this time.

Is there an option on the TV to 'refresh Internet content' (or something similar?). Again, running this option usually adds iPlayer if it's missing.

Failing that, try ringing LG customer support.

Contacted LG customer support and was told 'as it's a new 2013 model' the firmware/software to get iPlayer working is yet to be made available

That might explain why it's not listed on the BBC iPlayer TV compatibility chart for LG products.

Mind you that doesn't seem to list any 2013 models. In fact can't find any 2013 models of TV regardless of who makes them listed. So maybe not being on the list doesn't mean a great deal.
